We're back with a new episode of "In This Family"!

Peter Sagal, longtime host of NPR’s Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, joins Dr. Michelle K. Murray for a candid conversation about anxiety, depression, undiagnosed ADHD, and the family patterns we inherit—and can choose to change.

Peter shares how understanding his own mental health opened the door to deeper connection with his father and helped him show up differently in his second marriage and family. It’s thoughtful, honest, and deeply human.

There’s a lot happening in our communities right now, and many of us are feeling more fear, stress, or uncertainty than usual. In a special "In This Family" episode, Dr. Michelle K. Murray talks about how to stay grounded, protect our mental health, support our kids, and lean on our values during times of unrest.

She also shares simple ways to create a family safety plan, talk about big emotions, set boundaries, and stay informed without becoming overwhelmed.

Wherever you are on your advocacy journey—getting involved, stepping back, or simply trying to cope—you’re not alone.

The new year is here, but for many of us, the stress didn’t reset on January 1.

If you’re feeling like December followed you into January, you’re not alone. In our blog, "Leading with Self-Care", we explore why caring for yourself isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

From reframing how we think about self-care to simple ways to refill your tank, this piece is a reminder that you can’t pour from an empty cup.

Take a few minutes to read—and give yourself permission to pause.

This holiday season was a great reminder that the joy on campus extends beyond our youth. It shines just as brightly through our dedicated staff! From our festive Ugly Sweater Competition to the excitement of the Holiday Scavenger Hunt of festive figurines all around campus, the season was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of cheer.

It was wonderful seeing staff earn gifts, spread joy, and celebrate together all across campus. Thank you to our incredible team for bringing such positive energy and holiday spirit, your dedication and enthusiasm truly made this season special for everyone.

Our Treatment Foster Care Program was honored to celebrate the holidays with Ravens Linebacker Van Noy, and his wife Marissa, through the incredible work of the Noy Valor Foundation.

For the third year in a row, two of our amazing Treatment Foster Care Families were invited by Kyle to the Under Armor Performance Center for a private Ravens practice and meet and greet with the team, followed by a guided tour of the facility, and a Very Van Noy Christmas celebration around the tree!

Each family was individually granted their Christmas wishes and gifted tickets to the Ravens vs. Patriots game! This year was especially memorable when the some of the team stopped by after practice to say hello and chat with our youth and families.

Seeing the joy, excitement, and smiles as gifts were unwrapped and memories were made was truly unforgettable and appreciated by our families and staff. We are beyond grateful for this continued partnership and for the kindness, generosity, and holiday cheer Kyle and Marissa shared with our families. Nexus-Woodbourne applauds the Van Noys for the important work they do to support adopted, disadvantaged and foster care children.

What an incredible event! Yesterday, we hosted a career fair for our youth to connect with inspiring presenters who were energized by thoughtful, insightful questions and meaningful conversations. Experiences like this open doors, spark curiosity, and show our youth what’s possible for their futures.

A huge shoutout to our Transition Services team for making this opportunity happen and for opening doors that will leave a lasting impact on our youth. We are deeply grateful to all the employers and staff who invested their time, knowledge, and expertise to inspire the next generation.

Thank you to the organizations who joined us and helped restore hope and reshape futures:

• County Police Department
• City Fire Department-Engine Co.33
• Transit Administration

• By Tammy, LLC

Together, we are building pathways to opportunity and empowering our youth to dream bigger.
