Ascend Mental Health

Ascend Mental Health Community Outpatient Mental Health Clinic Ascend Mental Health is located in Baltimore, Maryland and serves Baltimore City and surrounding areas.

Our staff consists of licensed mental health professionals who specialize in providing individual, family, and group therapy, medication management, and behavioral health services. We serve children and adults ages 5 and older. We provide support, therapy, and resources to our clients in their homes, communities, schools, work and social environments. We work with our client’s families and support system to establish goals for treatment. Together, we monitor individual progress. Ascend uses a holistic approach to mental health and behavioral health care. Holistic comes from the word "whole". This approach to health looks at the role that the mind, body, emotions and spirit have to play in our general wellbeing. In other words, it takes the whole person into account. A holistic approach may mean re-evaluating your lifestyle, how you live and what you eat. It also takes into account the part which stress can play in your daily life. Holistic living is about helping you with your choice of lifestyle. It means getting to know yourself better and discovering what is best for you. We pride ourselves in getting to know our clients, their family structure, needs and wants and we support them every step of the way. Our program is successful because we build a special bond with our clients. Our clients want to be a part of our program because they are always treated with dignity, respect and most of all, like family.

Adolescence is a critical time for brain development, which makes education about substances especially important.

During National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week, we’re raising awareness about issues affecting youth today. Including va**ng, fentanyl exposure, ma*****na use, and polysubstance use.

Substance use and mental health often intersect. Teens struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress may be more vulnerable to experimenting with substances.

Open conversations, accurate information, and early support can make a significant difference in prevention and recovery.

If your child or teen is struggling with mental health or substance use concerns, we offer support that can help.

It’s World Sleep Day and sleep is not a luxury. It’s a biological necessity.

Chronic sleep disruption can impact mood, focus, anxiety, and overall mental health. Prioritizing rest is one of the most powerful steps toward emotional wellness.

Tonight, protect your sleep like you protect your peace. 💤

As we near the end of Sleep Awareness Week, remember:

Small changes in sleep hygiene can make a big difference:
• Consistent bedtime
• Screen-free wind-down time
• Limiting late caffeine
• Creating a calm sleep environment

Better sleep supports better mental health.

Journaling can help slow racing thoughts and ease anxious energy.
These prompts guide you back to the present moment with clarity and compassion:

1️⃣ What am I feeling right now, and where do I feel it in my body?
2️⃣ What is one thing I can control in this moment?
3️⃣ If I showed myself compassion today, what would that look like?

✨ Bonus prompt: What do I need most right now—and how can I give a piece of that to myself?

📌 Save this to use when anxiety creeps in—and remember, support is always here.
