“The Heartbeat of Healthcare at Risk: Addressing Nigeria’s Growing Nursing Shortage” published on September 2, 2025 by Susan Daniels (MA, MSN, RN, CNL)

Healthcare on the brink. Nigeria must fill a gap of over 1 million nurses by 2025 to meet healthcare needs. Yet mass migration, poor conditions, and hiring inefficiencies threaten patient care, drive burnout, and erode ethics. Bold solutions—from exchange programs to better wages—are urgently needed. Read more and help amplify the call for change.

🌍🤱 World Breastfeeding Week 2025 is here under the theme “Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems.”

Breastfeeding isn’t just a personal choice—it’s a shared responsibility that protects health, strengthens communities, and supports our planet. Yet, only 44% of babies under 6 months are exclusively breastfed, far from the 70% target for 2030.

The barriers are real—lack of support, poor workplace policies, misinformation, and aggressive formula marketing. But global success stories show change is possible when policy, healthcare, and community support work together.

This week, let’s move beyond awareness:
âś… Empower families with accurate information
âś… Train & support healthcare workers
âś… Enforce strong protections against formula marketing
âś… Create breastfeeding-friendly workplaces

🤝 Breastfeeding is everyone’s responsibility—let’s protect it, invest in it, and normalise it.

The latest blog breaks down why global health can’t be equitable without disability inclusion—and what we can do about it.
