Antimicrobial stewardship saves lives. 🦠💊
Nurses are uniquely positioned to lead stewardship initiatives — ensuring the right drug, dose, and duration while educating patients and teams. Supporting nurse-led programs strengthens care today and protects antibiotics for tomorrow.

Sunday news: New blog!!!
🚨 Antimicrobial resistance is rising fast — but nurses are the key to turning the tide.

From India to the global stage, nurses are leading efforts in infection control, community education, and smarter antibiotic use. So why are their roles still underrecognized in many AMR policies?

🌍 This week on the blog, explore how empowering nurses strengthens primary care, improves stewardship, and protects global health.

New Blog alert! By our own Haley Williams!

Pregnant women are still routinely excluded from clinical trials—even during outbreaks like COVID-19, Ebola, and Zika—despite being at far higher risk of severe illness and death. This “protection by exclusion” leaves mothers and babies without the evidence-based care they urgently need.

A new policy brief led by Haley Kartchner Williams (Johns Hopkins University) with Jhpiego outlines clear steps to change this, including:
• Stronger ethical frameworks
• Better pregnancy-specific data
• Pregnancy-informed study designs
• Global research guidelines
• Funding for safe interventions
• Involving pregnant women directly
• Clear public communication

Future outbreaks are inevitable. Equity and science demand that pregnant women be included—not excluded—from research that could save lives.
