"The mental health benefits of crafting
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, major depression — a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest — is one of the most common mental disorders in the United States. Traditional treatment with medications and psychological counseling are very effective for most people with depression.

But alternative treatments are getting more attention these days, and researchers are beginning to study the mental health benefits of creativity and crafting."- Heathline.com

Memorial Day is a time to remember those we lost in war. We mainly focus on those we lost physically, but let us not forget those we lost who may have returned physically , but not mentally the same. Many received loved ones home who "look" like themselves, but are mentally and emotionally strangers. Many suffer from PTSD, anxiety, depression and other stress related disorders. Let us not forget these Veterans and their loved ones who are grieving the loss of their former selves and trying to reclaim all that was taken from them due to war. God bless our military and their families ALWAYS!♡♡♡

One of the hardest things to do at times is practicing what you preach/teach. I can sit across from someone and listen to them list obligation after obligation, without one mention of what they do for THEM. No mention of what they do to refuel, relax, unwind, etc. No self care, but lots of caring for others. I would often say, "You need to take care of you! If you don't take care of yourself, you can not effectively take care of others in the long run." I would get the same response time after time, "There is not enough time".

I totally get it and now I am in the place where I need to practice what I teach. This means saying no sometimes. I cannot be everywhere and do everything. It is just not possible. We are not human "doings". We are human beings. Sometimes we just need to take some time out for self to stop doing and just be.

I remember when bubble baths, quietly reading a book or just taking a little walk around the neighborhood while praying, singing or meditating on nature was a regular routine. With three little ones, I had to learn to create a new norm for "quiet" time. Parents know that the bathroom is no longer private when you have two three year olds and an 11 month old. They follow you EVERYWHERE!! I have to get a little creative at times, but it is possible!

Set aside some time for just you this week. Your mind, body and spirit will thank you!! We can do it!

This has been a wonderful week and weekend of being around family, food and fun. As we celebrate the holidays, we should always remember to be grateful for who we have and what we have. Unfortunately, this is not an easy or joyful time for everyone. We must not forget those who do not have the basic necessities of life or those who have experienced loss. As you hug your mother also pray for those who have lost theirs. As you sit and listen to your father's long winded stories and hearty laughs, send some positive thoughts to those who can no longer hear their father's voice. Continue to be grateful, continue to love, continue to encourage others and continue to laugh, love and live life to the fullest. Hold one another up and continue to be there for someone else. Much love and enjoy the holidays!!

We are blessed and excited to announce, we have purchased our office building and are looking forward to the wonderful opportunities moving forward as we walk in our vision. This has been a tedious, annoying and time consuming process, but we never lost faith. We know that He that has started a good work in us will continue to work through us and with us as our vision continues to manifest itself. Special thanks and shout out to my amazing husband Ryan! We can express how grateful we are for your support!
