Ready to breathe easy this spring? 🌸 🌱 Try these pranayama techniques to combat allergies and promote clear, inflammation-free breathing. From Nadi Shodhana's energy balancing to Bhramari's calming buzz, find relief and relaxation in your breath.
Several pranayama (breathing) techniques can help alleviate symptoms of spring allergies by promoting clear breathing and reducing inflammation. Here, we highlight two pranayama practices for managing spring allergies:
1. Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing): This technique helps balance the flow of energy in the body and clear the nasal passages. Sit comfortably, close your right nostril with your thumb, inhale through the left nostril, then close the left nostril with your ring finger and exhale through the right nostril. Inhale through the right nostril, then switch sides and exhale through the left nostril. Repeat for several rounds.
2. Bhramari (Bee Breath): Bhramari involves making a humming sound during exhalation, which can help reduce stress and calm the mind. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and gently press the ear tragus with your index fingers to block outside distractions. Take a deep breath in, then seal the lips, exhale slowly while making a buzzing(humming) sound like a bee. Repeat for several rounds, focusing on the soothing vibration in the head and sinuses.
