We believe that through fostering a collaborative environment that is supportive of the creative process The Art Room will aid in the revitalization and strengthening of the Old Town Mall and community, and surrounding communities, one mind and household at a time. We believe that a region that supports arts and culture will enhance the quality of life of its cities and states while investing in the local economy. The Art Room meets a critical need in the historic Old Town Mall community and in the Baltimore arts community by providing local artists with the opportunity to create in a setting that will support their artistic development while offering them the resources necessary to advance their careers. This unique space allows artists of all ages to enhance the lives and communities around them through various community services and outreach efforts including: arts education, arts mentoring, and neighborhood cleaning and beautification. Through art exhibits and theatre & dance presentations the various functions of the arts including its therapeutic qualities will become an asset to other communities at-risk and the community-at-large.
