At Mindful Healing Works, we care about providing our clients with the resources and help that they need. We are changing the landscape of mental healthcare by breaking the stigma around depression in our work.

Did you know that today is National Depression Screening Day?

According to IAB Health Productions, “National Depression Screening Day began as an effort to reach individuals across the nation with important mental health education and connect them with support services. Screening for Mental Health (SMH) pioneered National Depression Screening Day as the first, voluntary, mental health screening initiative in 1990.”

It’s okay to not be okay. Did you know that September is National Su***de Prevention Month?

Our hearts go out to all who have been affected by su***de. Whether you’ve lost someone to su***de, had someone you know attempt su***de, have struggled with su***de ideation, or attempted su***de yourself– you are not alone in this.

We are here for you. We are here to bring awareness that help is possible and that there is hope no matter what. Reach out to someone today to check in on them. We often don’t know the emotional struggles or trials of someone else. It is better to ask someone if they are okay rather than to assume that they are fine.

Do you know the su***de warning signs? Notice how a friend talks. Do they say they feel like a burden to others? Are they talking about wanting to end their life? Are they sleeping and eating regularly? Do they have behavioral shifts or mood changes?

Every new beginning starts with day one!

You can start, you can change, and you can heal. Whatever you’re facing, you CAN move past it.

Take a gentle assessment of where you are now. How are you doing, really? Okay, where do you want to be? Ask yourself, what will it take for you to reach your goals? What are the painful issues that you need to work on to make it there? Now, give yourself permission to be present in this moment right where you are. That’s right, embrace yourself right now.
