The breezy weekend has left me feeling sneezier than I’d prefer, so I decided to do a little treatment on myself.

These are three of my go-to face points for allergy season.

They work locally, and you’ll often feel your sinuses start to open up right on the table.

But when someone comes in for a full treatment, the work we do goes deeper than that. The face points address what you feel in your sinuses. The body points address why it keeps happening.

We call this root-cause resolution.

If you’ve been white-knuckling your way through spring, we can help. It’s not too late in the season to get some relief.

🔗 to book. Or DM me if you want to talk through your situation first.

One of the things I hear most often from fertility patients is:

“I’m healthy… I’m just really stressed.”

And sometimes that’s true.

But when we start talking more, there’s often a bigger picture.

Painful periods.Really intense PMS.Trouble sleeping.Anxiety.
Tension that’s been building in the body for years.
A lot of people assume these things are separate issues.

But in Chinese medicine, we often see them as connected patterns in the body.

Instead of chasing each symptom individually, the work becomes helping the body come back into balance.

And over time, those patterns often start to shift.

Last week, a patient I’ve been working with for a few months shared that she’s pregnant.

Moments like that never get old.

If some of this sounds familiar, you’re definitely not the only one.

Ski lift conversations this weekend had me thinking about something we see in clinic every March…

Jaw clenching.
Neck and shoulder tension.
Allergies suddenly flaring.
PMS & irritability getting worse.

People often come in apologizing for having “so many different things going on.”

But in Chinese Medicine, these symptoms are often connected through the same underlying pattern.

In early spring, the body’s energy naturally starts rising after months of winter stillness. If that movement isn’t smooth, we often see what we call Liver Qi stagnation.

That’s when tension, irritability, headaches, digestive shifts, and cycle changes tend to show up all at once.

The good news? This pattern is usually very responsive to treatment. When the body regains smooth movement, many of those symptoms start to settle down together.

If your body feels a little off this time of year, it may just be responding to the seasonal shift.

If this sounds like your body lately, feel free to DM me. I’m always happy to point you in the right direction.

Spring has officially arrived in Baltimore (according to Chinese medicine), and we’ve been seeing a rise in fatigue, irritability, allergies, jaw clenching, and that feeling of being stuck.

If you’re experiencing the same thing right now, you’re not alone. And there’s a reason these symptoms show up together.

In Chinese Medicine, spring is when your body wants to move and expand after months of winter stillness. Winter was about conservation: turning inward, resting, storing energy. Spring is about growth, movement, energy rising.

The problem? When your energy (Qi) doesn’t have space to move freely, it gets stuck, especially during this transition from Winter to Spring. This can show up as tension, mood shifts, headaches, allergies, and fatigue all at once.

Here’s what many people don’t realize: the fatigue AND the allergies AND the tension AND the irritability aren’t separate issues. They’re all expressions of the same root cause. Your body struggling to navigate this seasonal shift smoothly.

What helps? Gentle movement, stretching, getting outside, sour flavors like lemon water. And acupuncture to help your Qi move and release the stuck patterns.

If you’re feeling this way right now, you don’t have to push through it. Your body is asking for support through this transition, and that’s completely valid.

As we close out Black History Month, we’re honoring a healer whose legacy began right here in Charm City: Dr. Mutulu Shakur (1950–2023).

Before he became a revolutionary leader and a pioneer of the NADA acupuncture protocol, Dr. Shakur was born in Baltimore. He eventually co-founded the Lincoln Detox Center, where he used acupuncture not just as a treatment, but as “liberation medicine;” a way to give people back their agency and health in a system that had historically neglected them. (He was also a vital mentor and stepfather to Tupac Shakur, another icon with deep Baltimore ties.)

Why this legacy drives us at Charm City Healing: We recognize that the history of healthcare is not a neutral one. We are acutely aware of the systemic disparities that persist today, especially the alarming rates of Black maternal mortality.

Our Commitment: Honoring this heritage is a year-round practice for us. It means:

* Radical Listening: We believe your experience. We hear your concerns and hold space for what is unsaid. We treat the human, not just the symptoms.

* Informed Advocacy: We stay educated on the specific challenges Black birthing people face to ensure our clinic is a sanctuary of safety and true support.

* Inclusivity in Action: Carrying forward Dr. Shakur’s belief that wellness is a right for all.

We stand in gratitude to the Black healers & activists who proved that healing is an act of liberation.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, spring is associated with the Liver and Gallbladder — systems responsible for keeping energy moving smoothly throughout the body.

As we transition out of winter, that energy naturally begins to rise and move outward.

When that movement is balanced, you feel clear and steady.

When it’s not, it can show up as:

• Allergy flares• Sinus congestion• Irritability• PMS• Headaches• Increased inflammation

This is why spring can feel like a full-body shift, not just “allergies.”

Supporting these systems early in the season helps regulate that upward movement before symptoms escalate.

That’s why we offer our annual Spring Support Series — a structured, 8-week treatment plan that combines:

• Acupuncture to promote smooth Qi flow• Medical Ozone Therapy to calm sinus inflammation• Frequency-specific microcurrent to support cellular energy• Customized herbal and nutraceutical support

Proactive seasonal care often means fewer flare-ups and a smoother transition into spring.

If this is the time of year your body tends to struggle, send us a message or schedule a consultation to see if seasonal support is right for you.

The Lunar New Year is one of my favorite seasonal turning points.

In Chinese medicine, this is when energy truly begins to shift. We’re slowly emerging from winter’s deep restoration and stepping toward spring’s movement and growth.
This year carries Fire Horse energy. Passionate. Driven. Bold. Transformative.

But fire needs grounding.

If your nervous system is already stretched, if your hormones feel unstable, or if stress tends to show up as migraines, digestive issues, PMS, or pain flares, this energy can feel like too much instead of inspiring.

This is exactly why seasonal acupuncture matters.

We don’t wait for symptoms to spiral. We support the body during the transition.

If you’re still feeling like your system is in winter mode, download our Winter Wellness Guide. It’s linked in bio and still very relevant right now.

And if you’re ready to move into this new season feeling regulated, clear, and supported, book a session with us.

This is a powerful window for healing.
