La Salud Mental en El Níspero: Lo Que Nos Dice Nuestra Juventud.

Se realizó un estudio comunitario con el objetivo de examinar el estado de la salud mental de los jóvenes y su bienestar general en El Níspero, Santa Bárbara, Honduras.

El reporte que contiene los resultados fue desarrollado por la Universidad de Maryland, Escuela de Salud Pública, Departamento de Ciencias de la Familia (UMD-FMSC), en colaboración con la Organización para la Asistencia Sanitaria Comunitaria (OCHO), la Universidad de Maryland - Extensión (UMD-Extensión), la Universidad de Minnesota - Extensión (UMN-Extensión), y Familia Solutions. Se donó a la clínica en Concepción del Sur equipo para realizar electrocardiogramas con el objetivo de aportar servicios de salud sostenibles y acesibles. El equipo fue gestionado por Michell Melicosta, nuestro miembro, y el día de 17 de septiembre se realizó la entrega de dicho equipo.

The countdown has begun! We leave for Honduras this month and could still use your help. We would appreciate any and all contributions, no matter the size so that we can obtain/achieve the following:

- Various medications such as pre-menopause ($30 for a month), pediatric asthma ($20 for inhalator), hypertension ($40 for a month), and diabetes
- Workshops for students in the Occupational Therapy Program at the University of Honduras
- Eye drops and lenses ($50)

Team OCHO wants to show our gratitude for all of your support this past year. This Giving Tuesday, we are shifting our focus to the 2025 Brigade and making it even more impactful. As we close out the year, we hope to raise funds in order to:

-Offset travel costs for interpreters or other brigade volunteers for whom the brigade cost may be a financial hardship.
-Offset cost for the salary of Dr. Patrocinio, our Honduras medical director and liaison.
-Facilitate training for Honduran students completing their rotations in functional therapy.
-Purchase eye clinic equipment and resources.
