Baltimore has seen a spike in overdoses linked to fentanyl contaminated with designer benzos like methylclonazepam or bromazolam — presenting with profound sedation that may not respond to naloxone.

🧠 What You Need to Know:
▪️ Suspected "benzo dope" may complicate overdose care
▪️ Some cases still responded to naloxone
▪️ Longer observation may be needed after reversal
▪️ Flumazenil NOT recommended

⚠️ Stay informed. Be prepared. Help us protect our patients and our communities.

Recently we saw a mass overdose in Baltimore and sadly, we'll probably see more in the future. One of the aspects of the drug crises in the USA that receives little coverage is the dynamic of recovery.

23 MILLION people are in recovery in the US, that's 1 in 15.

This is a radio segment that I did for NPR affiliate WHCP discusses the recent overdoses and then about the very real possibility of getting into recovery.
