ADVOCATING FOR EMERGENCY MEDICINE IN MARYLAND!

Excellent legislative gathering in Annapolis last night at the Red Red Wine Bar. MDCEP board and staff met with dozens of legislators to talk about the challenges of Emergency Medicine in Maryland and key concerns like

1, FINALLY getting hospital staff included in the workplace protections afforded to Police and Fire/EMS

2. The critical need for mental health beds in Maryland ESPECIALLY for children.

3. Addressing the "ER waiting times" and reframing the misnomer to understand that the wait is caused by the lack of beds in the hospital beds/staff/resources and the upcoming bill to revisit the Certificate of Need process.

We also discussed the "Back up EMTALA" bill, the Motorcycle helmet exemption laws, and , more.

MDCEP is heavily engaged in the legislative and lobbying process to make Emergency Medicine in Maryland ever better for our members.

JOIN US. Help us help the specialty. If you're interested in joining up and helping out email us @ info@MDACEP.org

Even just joining as a member helps!

Thanks!
