Our first Clinical Informatics Conference for the Spring 2025 semester will be Thursday, February 6, 12p to 2pm EST.

The Clinical Informatics Conference meets on the first Thursday of each month, 12pm to 2pm, during the Fall and Spring semesters. The conference is part of the Graduate Program in Clinical Informatics through the University of Maryland School of Graduate Studies in collaboration with the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Any interested students and faculty are welcome to participate.

Dr. Perkins is the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and Senior Director for Clinical Informatics at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, Florida. Her work focuses on the application of information technology to improve clinical care, with a focus on usability, and research on the implementation science of healthcare IT. She is also a practicing family medicine physician in the center’s Department of Internal Medicine. In addition, she is an Associate Professor and the Interim Clinical Informatics Fellowship Program Director for the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. Dr. Perkins received her Doctor of Medicine from Florida State University and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As to her policy-related efforts, she has an appointment on the Health IT Advisory Committee (HITAC) of the Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy (ASTP)/ Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health IT.
