Every shirt tells a story. ๐Ÿงก The Carroll County Clothesline Project is a powerful visual display where survivors and supporters decorate shirts to raise awareness about violence and support healing. Each shirt color carries a meaningful message โ€” from survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, childhood abuse, and more. You are not alone, and your story matters. ๐Ÿ’œ

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

At Springboard Community Services, we want survivors and their loved ones to know: you are not alone. Our compassionate, experienced, and dedicated therapists and advocates are here to walk alongside anyone impacted by sexual assault or childhood sexual abuseโ€”at your pace, on your terms.

In 2025, we had the privilege of serving 435 adults on their healing journeys from sexual assault or childhood sexual abuse. Our therapists are trained in evidence-based, trauma-focused modalities designed to support meaningful, lasting healing.

Whenever you are ready, Springboard is here for you.

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting a small but powerful Girl Empowerment Group with three amazing young girls

Together, they explored mindfulness practices, built meaningful connections with one another, and learned healthy ways to cope with anxiety and stress. Watching them open up, support each other, and grow more confident in just a short time was truly inspiring.

Creating safe spaces like this reminds us how important connection and support areโ€”especially during formative years.

Did you know? Research shows that positive peer support can significantly improve mental health in young girls by reducing feelings of isolation, increasing self-esteem, and promoting healthier coping strategies.

Weโ€™re so proud of these girls and the strength they showed. This is what empowerment looks like

April is Child Abuse Prevention Monthโ€”a time to raise awareness and stand together to protect children and support families

Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) play a critical role in responding to child abuse. They provide a safe, child-friendly space where children can share their experiences, receive support, and begin the healing process. Through a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach, CACs bring together professionals from law enforcement, child protective services, medical and mental health providers, and advocacy organizations to ensure children and families receive comprehensive care.

This collaborative model helps reduce trauma, streamlines investigations, and prioritizes the well-being of every child.

We are incredibly grateful to work alongside our dedicated MDT partners in Howard, Harford, and Carroll County. Together, our staff provide essential mental health services and advocacy support to children and families, helping them navigate difficult times with compassion and care.

It is an honor to be part of a community committed to prevention, protection, and healing

For over 170 years, Springboard Community Services has dedicated itself to transforming the lives of Marylandโ€™s most vulnerable.

Built on a bedrock of integrity, compassion, and responsiveness, Springboard Community Services continues to be an innovative, agile, and comprehensive provider of services โ€” many of which are free or low-fee โ€” that span the life cycle, from supporting expectant mothers to caring for the at-risk elderly. Through a broad mix of case management, counseling, and support, we provide not only a safety net but a springboard to those who need it most. Our mission: Break the cycle of poverty, abuse, and despair, one person, one family, one generation at a time.

โ€‹A 501(c) non-profit organization, Springboard has 6 locations in Baltimore City and the surrounding five counties, including multiple counseling offices and two medical adult daycares. We are the on-site mental health provider at the Child Advocacy Centers (CAC) in Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties, with a formal partnership with CACs in Baltimore County. We are also the identified domestic violence provider for Carroll County and West Baltimore County.

Springboard Community Services is licensed to practice as an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic with immediate appointment openings in Baltimore City, Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties. As a licensed clinic, we offer the continuum of mental health care provided by a multidisciplinary team including social workers, counselors, nurse practitioners, case managers and a psychiatrist who specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry. We provide a broad array of trauma-informed services for individuals and families along their life course from children through senior citizens.
