We're proud to stand with our Maryland Behavioral Health Coalition partners to demand that Maryland "keep the door open" to mental health and substance use care.🚪🔑

Last week, staff and clients testified at hearings and met with legislators to champion disability assistance programs, behavioral health funding, and the health and housing budgets.

🎉Health Care for the Homeless is honored to be among the first recipients of Baltimore City’s Opioid Restitution Fund community grants.

Last week, Mayor Brandon M. Scott joined us at our Fallsway Clinic as President & CEO Kevin Lindamood accepted a $500,000 award to support our work to reduce overdose deaths and address the negative health effects of homelessness.

Thank you to Mayor Scott, the Restitution Advisory Board, the Mayor's Office of Overdose Response and the Mayor’s Office of Recovery Programs.

"We need to invest in mental health and substance use care, invest in our kids, invest in our workforce, and we need to keep the door open!"

It was an incredible day in Annapolis rallying for critical mental health and substance use funding! We're proud to stand with our Maryland Behavioral Health Coalition partners and the entire behavioral health community to advocate for the more than 1 million Marylanders living with a mental health or substance use disorder. Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their stories. Today, our voices were heard loud and clear: KEEP THE DOOR OPEN!

The AstraZeneca Foundation's six Creating Health Access for Next Generation Equity (CHANGE) grant awardees are redefining how care is delivered across their communities. Through community-driven approaches, tailored health education and patient-centered care, these organizations are breaking down barriers to healthcare.

People are met where they are — in barbershops, at community events and in neighborhoods through mobile clinics, microsites and street medicine programming — ensuring healthcare reaches more of those who need it. By integrating local voices into every aspect of their work, these nonprofits are driving meaningful changes with the power to transform lives.

📢 NEW in our MAT and Mobile Clinics! We’re now offering HPV self‑collection testing — a cervical cancer screening that doesn't require a pelvic exam. It's fast. It's more private. And as MAT Registered Nurse Erin Levitt shares, it puts more control in the hands of clients.

February 26 is coming up — don’t miss the chance to make your voice heard at the Keep the Door Open Rally in Annapolis!

Join us in standing up for the more than 1 million Marylanders who live with a mental health or substance use disorder.
We are urging the General Assembly to provide adequate funding for critical mental health and substance use care. But we need your help. Legislators need to know how important this issue is to the public.
