Shiatsu is a form of Japanese acupressure that promotes overall balance and health, and often addresses specific physical issues. It looks a little like massage in that the practitioner physically moves and applies pressure to every part of the client’s body.

Shiatsu is practiced on a mat on the floor, with the client fully dressed in loose comfortable clothing. The treatment consists of pressure and stretching applied to the energy pathways of the body.

Receiving a Shiatsu will leave you feeling both relaxed and energized.

At Wind Gate Wellness, we offer discounted Shiatsu packages for first time patients. People are usually hooked after the first session!

Exercise is very important to me, both physically and mentally. It's integral to the level of care and support I offer to all of you.

I use trail running as a form of moving meditation. It helps me become aware of being aware. During and after my runs I'm able to come up with new ideas and organize my thoughts to be less chaotic and stressful. ⁠

I love because there are lots of trails to run on right in the city, and it feels very immersive even when you don’t have time to drive all the way out into the country. ⁠

This point regulates the pericardium, and helps to restore balance to the fire element. ☯️🔥 ⁠⠀

Physically, it cools the channel from excess heat. It's also a horary point, meaning it has a use that pairs with the solstice or equinox. 🌅⁠⠀

At Wind Gate Wellness, I'm taking health and safety guidelines very seriously. Adjustments have been made to the practice to leave time and space for sanitation protocols. ⠀

Following the recommendations of the state health department and the CDC, I'll be wearing a mask and nitrile gloves, and as always, I'll be sanitizing my hands between appointments. 😷🧤🧴

Rest assured that professional cleaning will be maintained, and every surface of contact will be wiped down with Barbicide between every appointment.
