FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jessica T. Fauntleroy Nominated to Baltimore City Trauma-Informed Care Task Force

Baltimore, MD — Jessica T. Fauntleroy, MSW, LCSW-C, founder of J’elle Legacy Group and Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services, has been nominated by Mayor Brandon M. Scott to serve on the Baltimore City Trauma-Informed Care Task Force. Her nomination reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to collaborating with community-based leaders who bring lived experience, professional expertise, and a deep understanding of healing-centered systems.

As a licensed clinical social worker, strategist, and entrepreneur, Fauntleroy has dedicated more than 15 years to advancing culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health care for women, families, and caregivers across Baltimore. Through Restoring Destiny, her agency provides client-centered and evidence-based therapy services. Through J’elle Legacy Group, she leads initiatives focused on leadership development, wellness strategy, and legacy-building for Black women.

“I believe healing is both personal and systemic,” said Fauntleroy. “Baltimore deserves systems that respond to trauma with compassion, accountability, and equity. I’m honored to bring a community voice and a healing-centered perspective to this important work.”

The Trauma-Informed Care Task Force is designed to strengthen Baltimore’s capacity to integrate trauma-responsive principles into policies, practices, and workforce culture across city agencies. Members collaborate to develop sustainable models of care and training that promote safety, dignity, and resilience throughout all sectors.

Through this nomination, Fauntleroy continues her mission to transform how communities heal and lead — embodying J’elle Legacy Group’s guiding philosophy: Heal Boldly. Lead Strategically. Build Legacy.

Throwback to 2017:
At that time, I was working full-time at Total Health Care (1501 W. Saratoga Street) in the Substance Abuse Program, where I provided mental health treatment to patients beginning suboxone.

That little office became a safe space—not just for my patients, but for me too.

It was also my last full-time position before stepping out on faith to launch Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services in 2018. After a 13-year career in direct service, I knew it was time to build something of my own—a space centered on healing, cultural competence, and legacy.

One full-circle moment I’ll never forget: I actually received health services as a child at that same Total Health Care site. To this day, I still receive postcards inviting me back to serve—which always warms my heart.

Restoring Destiny is where my purpose, research, and hard work live. It’s more than a business—it’s my legacy. 💜
