**What is a transitioning youth?***
In Maryland, the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) defines 'Transitioning Youth' as individuals aged 14-21 who are preparing to leave school. The DDA provides services to aid these youth and their families in navigating the transition to adulthood, including access to Governor's Transitioning Youth Initiative (GTYI) funds. Early planning allows students to explore postsecondary goals, apply for services and supports, and adjust their goals based on their experiences.
