Healing happens because of people.
Our nurses, therapists, physicians, environmental services staff, and support teams work together every day to help children recover, grow, and thrive.
On Employee Appreciation Day, we celebrate the commitment, compassion, and teamwork that make this place so special. Thank you for everything you do for our patients and families. đź’™

Today's Community Re-entry Outing took us to School of Rock Pikesville for an unforgettable, music-filled experience. The School of Rock team generously donated a private lesson hour, brought in extra staff, and created such a welcoming, hands-on environment.
The boys explored guitars, drums, and more — even stepping into the spotlight as lead singer! It was a joyful, therapeutic opportunity to engage, express themselves, and simply have fun.
They even went home with shirts, water bottles, picks, and drumsticks. A day full of music and big smiles. 💙🎶

Home Day for Mikal! 🏡💙
After beginning his journey at University of Maryland Golisano Children's Hospital, Mikal came to MWPH in October to continue growing stronger so he could reunite with his twin brother, Makhi, at home.
Today, he was celebrated with a special clap-out by the many team members who supported him throughout his journey. Surrounded by his mom, cousin, and twin brother, Mikal headed home at last.
Wishing you continued healing and happiness, sweet boy! đź’™

🎉 Happy 8th Birthday, TyShaun! 🎂
Today we celebrated TyShaun turning 8 with a party full of fun and presents — and plenty of smiles! The best gift of all? He was able to be off his vent for the celebration and, afterward, head outside with OT to play fetch with Bata.
He was so excited to feel the sunshine, enjoy the fresh air, and simply be a kid. Moments like these are what it’s all about. 💛

From NICU to home — without missing a beat. 💜
When Kamari was ready to transition from University of Maryland Golisano Children's Hospital to MWPH, both teams began collaborating weeks in advance to ensure a smooth transfer.
That preparation helped prevent setbacks and kept her momentum strong.
Now, she’s home, thriving, and getting to know her siblings.
Read how teamwork built her “Bridge to Home.” ⬇️

For nearly two decades, Spirit Halloween has shown up for our patients in an extraordinary way. Over 19 years, they’ve contributed more than $1 MILLION to Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital — including an amazing $90,870 in 2025 alone to support our child life program!

Through the generosity of Spirit of Children, hospitalized kids experience more comfort, creativity, and moments of joy when they need it most. We are deeply grateful for this partnership and the lasting impact it continues to make!

Congratulations to Liliane Veith, RN, our newest DAISY Foundation Award recipient! 🌼
Nominated by the parents of a recent patient, Lili was recognized for her compassion, dedication, and genuine love for nursing. From holding their baby simply to provide comfort to making sure their two-year-old felt included, she brought light and reassurance during a very stressful time.

Thank you, Lili, for truly embodying what it means to be a DAISY Nurse. đź’›

Raise your hand if you’re ready to go home for the first time ever! 🙋‍♂️🏠💙
Today we’re celebrating a very special Home Day as Amir heads home for the very first time. After coming to us from Johns Hopkins Children's Center, he has worked so hard to get to this moment — and we couldn’t be more proud.
We’re so excited for his family as they welcome him home and begin this next chapter together. Way to go, Amir! 🎉
