Last week we took some of our patients to Amazing Glaze and had such a great time!

We had a mix of familiar faces and first-time participants, and for many it was their first time painting pottery—making it a brand-new experience all around.

Everyone picked their own piece and chose their colors. It was wonderful to see their creativity, confidence, and joy shine through! It was especially meaningful to celebrate big wins—like increased independence and trying new things with confidence. 🎨🖌️

Thank you for attending and for sharing.

Thank you for attending and for sharing.

We attended the Forever in Bloom event today at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, and we were absolutely in awe of the work and heart that went into the event. Seeing members of Beau's care team was incredible, especially since we only see them online these days! Being able to introduce Beau's little sister to everyone was bittersweet and wonderful all at once. The speakers and activities and presentations meant so much to our family! Thank you to our MWPH family for continuing to care for us!

Home Days are the BEST days 💛
Adelyn went home today, and we couldn’t be more proud! She made incredible strides during her time at MWPH.
She also formed a very special bond with Bata — his biggest fan! 🐾 They spent so much time in therapy together, and he truly motivated her — especially when it came to walking. Our therapists even shared that she always did her best work when he was by her side.
Her Elsa doll made things even more special — a generous donation from a former patient’s family that ended up being the perfect fit after all her hard work ❄️
Congratulations, Adelyn!

Behind every patient journey is a team supporting the whole family. 💙
Our Social Work team helps lighten the load—connecting families with resources, providing guidance, and walking alongside them every step of the way.
“We’re here to share some of that burden,” says team lead Adina Schapiro, LCSW-C.

In honor of Volunteer Month, we’re sharing a special “Where are they now?” story 💙

Meet Tyler Brodsky. Born at just 24 weeks, Tyler faced incredible challenges—but with support, determination, and years of care, he’s now thriving. Today, at 24, he’s not only enjoying milestones once thought impossible—he’s also giving back as a volunteer, bringing comfort and smiles to patients and families each week.

Over the past two days, our interdisciplinary team had the opportunity to attend the Brain Injury Conference of Maryland. Throughout the event, staff engaged in meaningful discussions around research, advocacy, and best practices, while learning from leading experts and passionate advocates in the field. We return feeling energized and inspired to continue enhancing the care and support we provide to patients and families affected by brain injuries.

A special congratulations to Lindie Ashman for receiving the Healthcare Hero Award! This recognition honors individuals who have made significant contributions to improving quality of life for those with brain injuries through clinical excellence and advocacy. We are incredibly proud of this well-deserved achievement!

Ending the week in the best way possible 💕
Abigail went home today with her loving parents! She did so much healing and growing at MWPH, and before that received wonderful care with our partners at Johns Hopkins Children's Center. And now, this sweet girl is finally where she belongs.

There’s nothing better than celebrating a new family of three heading home together. Wishing you endless cuddles, joy, and special moments ahead 🤍

Just a few recent smiles to brighten your day 😊

Our kiddos have been busy creating with our Child Life and Therapeutic Recreation team—painting, crafting, and letting their imaginations shine. These special moments give them a chance to just be kids, filling the day with laughter, creativity, and plenty of smiles 💛

April is National Occupational Therapy Month! 🧡✨

This month, we’re proud to celebrate our amazing Occupational Therapy team at MWPH! Every day, our OTs help patients build the skills they need to grow, learn, and thrive—whether that’s gaining independence, strengthening abilities, or boosting confidence. From early milestones to big achievements, their work makes a lasting difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. 💙

We’re so grateful for the compassion, creativity, and dedication they bring to every session.

✨ Congrats to our April STAR Employee, Kevin Toon, Environmental Services Technician! ✨

The Meyerhoff and Day Program Playrooms are vital spaces where kids can heal, learn, and just be kids — and keeping them clean is essential. You can always tell when Kevin has been there — the floors shine, the space is refreshed, and it makes a real difference for our patients, families, and staff. Though he stays humble, his work has a big impact on patient experience and safety.

👏 We appreciate you, Kevin! 👏
