Did you know that about 23% of people living with HIV in the U.S. are women? In 2021, women made up 20 percent of new diagnoses, according to CDC data. The highest number of new diagnoses were among women ages 25 to 44.

Today is National Women and Girls' HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, when we remind women from all walks of life about the importance of getting tested and knowing your status. Chase Brexton was recently certified as an Overdose Response Program by the Maryland Department of Health. As a certified program, we're able to provide training both for staff and the community on how to recognize and respond to an individual experiencing an opioid overdose, as well as distribute the lifesaving medication naloxone (Narcan) to use in the event of an opioid overdose.

In an effort to reduce health disparities, the LGBT Health Resource Center (LHRC) provides LGBTQ individuals and their families with welcoming access to expert health information and resources that will enhance wellness and quality of life. The LGBT Health Resource Center focuses its work on providing resources and information, delivering education and training, and creating direct community programing.
