If you missed your chance to see us at the BMore Healthy Expo earlier this month to receive life-saving Narcan training and a free Narcan kit, it's not too late!

Chase Brexton was recently certified as an Overdose Response Program by the Maryland Department of Health. As a certified program, we're able to provide training both for staff and the community on how to recognize and respond to an individual experiencing an opioid overdose, as well as distribute the lifesaving medication naloxone (Narcan) to use in the event of an opioid overdose.

We had so much fun at the BMore Healthy Expo! Our POWER Project, Sexual Health Clinic, Behavioral Health, and Population Health teams came together to make the event another huge success.

In all, we completed 20 tests and provided lots of information on PrEP and PEP; distributed 60 Narcan kits, made a few new patient appointments, and gave out lots of information about Chase Brexton’s services—and distributed a ton of swag!

Thank you to everyone who braved the cold to come out and see us, and a special thank you to our team members who took part in this terrific event!

Tomorrow is one of our favorite days of the year: the BMore Healthy Expo! It's happening from 10 am to 4 pm at the Baltimore Convention Center.

Our POWER Project, Sexual Health Clinic, Behavioral Health, Substance Use, and Population Health teams will be on site with free, fast, confidential HIV and Hep C testing, educational and health care information, free safe s*x kits, and other fun giveaways! Our Population Health team can also help you get into care at Chase Brexton. In addition, we'll have life-saving Narcan training and free Narcan kits available while supplies last.

In 2023, 38 percent of new HIV diagnoses occurred in Black and African American people, although that group accounted for only 12 percent of the national population.

Tomorrow, Saturday, February 7 is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day--a day dedicated to raising awareness about the disproportionate impact of HIV on Black and African American communities nationwide.

It's also a chance to remind everyone that ending the epidemic starts with knowing your status: we offer fast, free, confidential HIV testing at all of our centers daily. Learn more at www.chasebrexton.org/power

In an effort to reduce health disparities, the LGBT Health Resource Center (LHRC) provides LGBTQ individuals and their families with welcoming access to expert health information and resources that will enhance wellness and quality of life. The LGBT Health Resource Center focuses its work on providing resources and information, delivering education and training, and creating direct community programing.
