Creating Supportive Workspaces: MHFA Training Recap with BCHD
On June 30th, ECHO Development had the honor of delivering a dedicated Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course tailored specifically for Baltimore City Health Department staff. This in-person session was part of BCHD’s broader effort to foster a more supportive, stigma-free, and resilient workplace culture.
- Led by our certified instructors, the training equipped participants with the skills to:
- Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and substance use
- Confidently support someone in crisis, including situations involving suicidal ideation or panic attacks
- Apply the ALGEE action plan to guide safe, compassionate conversations
- Promote self-care—for both themselves and those they support
