Most sessions include the use of a heated table, essential oils, hot towels draped on your feet and the use of Hot Stones. All sessions are designed for each individual. Massage not only makes one feel great, but offers amazing benefits as well. Massage can: relieve fatigue, lessen depression, lessen anxiety, enhance sleep, calm an active baby, relieve everyday tension, reduce stress, and can enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow-the body's natural defense system. Massage would be a great addition to your health mainsenance and wellness plan! Swedish Massage: flowing, relaxing techniques for a full body massage would include: Back, neck, arms, hands, legs, feet. The use of oil or lotion for your massage, with the added option of esstentials oils for aromatherapy can be included. Chair Massage: utilizes Acupressure and Swedish massage to relieve tension. You will be seated upright on a specially designed massage chair and will remain fully clothed. The session generally lasts from ten to twenty minutes. Prenatal Massage: Depending on where you are in the pregnancy, reflexology and Swedish massage techniques will be used during your massage session. Certain esstential oils can be used to enhance this service. Hot Stone Massage: Hot Stones are used to further relax and de-stress your muscles. The basalt stones are black volcanic rock that are smooth and absorb and retain heat. Warm stones are held gently in your therapist hands during your massage, then placed systematically on certain pressure points on the body. Muscles release more quickly when stones are used in combination with Swedish techniques. Reflexology: Reflexology is a complex type of manipulation that is usually administered to the feet and occasionally on the hands as well. The therapist applies pressure to very specific points on the feet with the therory that there are trigger points on the feet that correspond to the areas or organs within the body. Essential Oils: Essential oils are volatile, aromatic chemicals obtained by steam or hydro distillation of various parts of plants, including seeds, bark, leaves, stems, roots, flowers and fruit. They are highly concentrated, beneficial secondary metabolites that serve as the defense mechanism of the plant. Although plants do not have an "immune system," to thrive they must be able to resist the challenges of bacteria, fungi, viruses and be able to defend themselves against herbivores. They must attract pollinators, thus they are also the communication system of plants. Many feel that essential oils have proven to be far more potent than dried herbs. Essential oils can help balance and support the body to heal itself. Research has shown that essential oils help us fight infection, contain balancing compounds and aid regeneration. They possess anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties.
