In anticipation of the new year, and the special New Year's Day Evolve event, Tuesday's JourneyDance class (7pm) will be an opportunity to shed our snake skin and gallop into all that 2026 is promising.

When I read this post a few weeks ago, the playlist and theme, Shedding the Snake Year(s), practically created itself. This playlist is so powerful that I'll be sharing it here even if you can't make it in person.

"Shedding Skin" is one of our tried and true JourneyDance processes (thanks Toni Bergins), but it takes on new significance as we shed 2025 and look forward to 2026. And Lindsey Stirling's song "Shadows" is a song that just makes me want to gallop!

Please share your snake or horse wisdom here as well! And then Come As You Are on New Year's Day as we move, breathe, connect and transform how we show up in 2026. Together.

We've got a bunch of new classes that will start appearing on the schedule in January! More morning classes, more Friday classes. More opportunities to Move. Breathe. Connect. and Transform.

On the Go classes are 30-minute movement practices designed to fit into real lives and busy days. These classes give you a focused, efficient experience — enough to reset your body, shift your energy, and support your wellbeing without requiring a full hour.

Whether offered at lunch or at the end of the day, On the Go classes are accessible, intentional, and welcoming to all levels. Expect clear guidance, thoughtful pacing, and practices that meet you where you are.

Perfect for squeezing in movement between meetings, before pickup, or when you want to move your body without overthinking it.

Yoga on the Go
Designed for busy days and full lives. This class focuses on gentle movement, breath awareness, and mindful posture to help release stiffness, ease mental fatigue, and restore a sense of balance. You’ll leave feeling more at ease in your body, calmer in your mind, and better prepared for whatever comes next.

Cardio on the Go
A high-energy, time-efficient, low-impact cardio class designed to get your heart rate up and your blood moving in just 30 minutes. Expect fun, straightforward movement that builds stamina, boosts mood, and leaves you feeling energized — not depleted.

Sonic Yoga Nidra on the Go
A guided rest practice using Yoga Nidra, breath work, solfeggio frequencies, and crystal singing bowls to support deep reset, mental clarity, and nervous system regulation. Expect to leave feeling deeply rested, mentally clearer, and more focused—ready to return to your day with greater ease and productivity.

Core & Flow on the Go
A dynamic class blending yoga flow with Pilates-inspired core work. Expect breath-led movement, functional strength, and smart sequencing that builds stability, flexibility, and balance—leaving you feeling strong, centered, and energized without burnout.

As the new year approaches, new plants have been gifted to Spiral Studio. Thank you, Lisa, for this Aglaonema Sparkling Sarah! She arrived serendipitously on 12/12/25, a date that many believe marks release, balance, and the beginning of a new timeline.

There are many portals to step into when something feels stuck and needs to shift. We can break old patterns, release the heaviness of 2025, and find synchronicities through movement, breath, and connection. And, together, we sparkle!

Every Monday morning at 9:00, a group gathers with Suzanne Kelley to dance for her class: Whatever Moves You. Participants pay $5 each, which goes to our Spiral Goddess Collective Care Fund scholarship program.

Most of the time Suzanne brings the playlist and sometimes a group member brings the playlist. They share a love and passion for dance and Suzanne has been leading this kind of informal drop-in dance for decades in Bangor. She loves funk and soul music, but mostly she just loves to move and make the world a better place.

This group is full of joy and gratitude and they share that with all of us at Spiral Studio. The group surprised us this year with a cash bonus and this note. We're grateful to be able to provide a space that supports joy in movement--and this group supports more joy and movement for our community.
