I know its been a while, but I had my 2 year cancer check today with my endocrinologist. The doc did an in-house ultrasound on my neck, that looked really good he says, number look good too. I do not have to see him for another year!

Well, I know it's been a long while since I posted here, here's a quick update... today... well, marks that 1 year ago today, we got the phone call, from Bronson Cancer Center, that there was no trace of cancer in my body!!!! Since the thyroid was taken out, there have been ups and downs, labs have been out of whack. Next week I see an endocrinologist to miss with my meds again and August 1 I go back to Battle Creek for my 1 year checkup with the cancer doctor. Praying everything is still untraceable. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers from the last year and a half!

Part of the wait is over.............

The scan came back clean! We are still waiting on the lab work that had to be sent to the Mayo Clinic. I will be having a phone call with the Cancer doctor to see what the future will hold for monitoring this. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. My family and I wouldn't have been able to get through this without all your help!

It has been a crazy but good week. We had alot of snow this week that made traveling to the Cancer Center, and to work, quite interesting. Monday, the injection really kicked me in the butt. Tuesday was a better day and I felt pretty good the whole day. Wednesday I took the radioactive pill with no side effects. Tomorrow, tomorrow is quite nerve wrecking for me... the full body scan at 8 AM. We're hoping and praying that they find no cancer. Please pray with Fawnda and I that the results will be in our favor. I do have a scheduled phone call with the Cancer doctor on Tuesday at 2:45 pm.

Prayers are much appreciated for this week. I will be going to Battle Creek Cancer Center Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for injections and body scan. Snow is DEFINITELY in the forecast and my anxiety is going up due to knowing the drive on 94 from Battle Creek to Benton Harbor to work will be....... interesting.

Well... it's that time again! Today, we are prepping snacks for me. On Monday I start my low-iodine diet for 3 weeks! Please remember me in your prayers for the week of January 24, I'll be making the round trip to Battle Creek Cancer Center, to work in Benton Harbor and home 4 of the 5 days that week. I'll be getting 3 days of injections (Monday- Wednesday) and that Friday for a full body scan to be sure the cancer is still gone!

As the day calms down, and I'm looking at the memories for today, I'm quickly reminded that today marks 1 year that turned my life and my family's life upside-down. I wrecked my car by hitting a deer, Fawnda brought me to ER, sat there by myself for the doctor to tell me there were spots on my lung, visible by the chest X-ray. With a CT scan and PET scan done, just to find cancer in my thyroid, but still had to go through a lung biopsy (that could have taken my life due to a punctured lung), thyroid biopsy, endoscopy (with no diagnostic information), another lung biopsy, and another endoscopy, and a total thyroidectomy. I am just grateful to be cancerfree and able to live yet another year. I am extremely grateful for everyone for their prayers and support over the last year.

Update! I came home yesterday from the hospital! Sunday morning my O2 came back up so they started to wean me off of the oxygen throughout the day. Monday morning, they took me off of it completely first thing. I did some walking around the room with the nurse watching, sat down and my O2 stayed up to 96%. I came home with NO oxygen. They want me off of work for the rest of the week due to the amount of blood thinner I'm on that will be done by the end of the weekend. Thanks for your prayers and texts.

Posting on this means there's more going on. I was tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. I haven't been feeling well for over a week, just thought it was seasonal allergies until my doc suggested to get the test done. It's been a hard week with an ER visit on Wednesday, Monoclonal Antibody infusion yesterday morning, and went beck to ER last night with a pulse-ox reading of 85%. They transferred me to Bronson Lakeview last night and sounds like I'll be here for a couple of days. They're working out the fine details for treatment. Please keep myself and Fawnda and the girls in your prayers.
