September 11th is always an emotion provoking day here at Ascend. Though not having lost anyone directly, we had family members in the city and love one who were immediately deployed, both we were unsure if we would ever see again. Though it is a day of tragedy, it is also a day of strength. Our entire nation came together, there was no backing down. We ARE Americans. A renewed sense of patriotism was just the start; many great safety advances came. Firefighters and first responders, emergency response systems, critical systems/infrastructure, and aviation, just to name a few, all turned this tragedy into a safer nation.
