Think your high-dose vitamin C is helping?
If your bottle says 500mg or 1000mg, what youâre actually taking might surprise you. đł
Hereâs the truth:
To get 500mg of real, food-based vitamin C, your supplement would need to be the size of a ping-pong ball.
So how are they fitting it into that tiny pill?
Theyâre not.
What youâre really getting is mostly synthetic ascorbic acidâoften derived from petroleum. đ
Yup, the same stuff that fuels your car.
Supplement companies know people want natural products, so they throw in a sprinkle of rose hips or acerola (maybe 25mg) and fill the rest with synthetics.
Then they slap the words ânaturalâ and âorganicâ on the labelâbecause legally, ascorbic acid contains carbon, which makes it âorganicâ by chemical definition.
But letâs be clear: your body knows the difference.
Real vitamin C isnât just ascorbic acid.
Itâs a complex of nutrients your body actually needs to heal and protect itself:
đŹ P factors (for vascular health)
𧏠K factor (for clotting + repair)
đŤ J factor (for oxygen delivery)
âď¸ Enzymes like tyrosinase (for adrenal + immune function)
This is why people mega-dose and still feel sick, tired, or inflamed.
More isnât better when itâs the wrong thing.
