We're celebrating Northern Light Health Week this week, and we’re thrilled to present another round of the Caring Spirit Awards to three incredible teammates who embody compassion, teamwork, and heart every single day at Eastern Maine Medical Center!

Aimee Hamilton stands out for her heartfelt leadership and dedication to making everything better for both patients and her team. Drawing on her experience in every patient service representative role, she listens with an open heart, turns ideas into real improvements, and has significantly reduced missed appointments by helping patients feel truly prepared and cared for. Aimee builds unity through team involvement, clear communication, and fun team-building moments, creating a supportive environment where everyone grows together.

Beth Hodgson joined Northern Light Cardiology just last year and has already become a true ray of sunshine! With her bright energy, warm smile, and can-do spirit, Beth jumps in wherever she’s needed, treats everyone with kindness and respect, and makes our Cardiology practice feel like home. She turns challenges into opportunities and lifts the whole team with her joyful attitude. Beth, thank you for bringing so much heart and positivity to all you do!

Ann Boomer, NNP, perinatal outreach coordinator, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, is the steady, warm presence everyone leans on. Whether she’s supporting nervous new parents, mentoring colleagues, or creating vital training programs for emergency teams across our region, Ann brings expert knowledge and genuine care to every moment. She builds bridges between nurses, doctors, and paramedics so our tiniest patients get the very best start possible. Ann is the recipient of our Overall Caring Spirit Award, meaning she embodies the best qualities of each of our award categories.

UPDATE: The phone lines are back up, but we are still experiencing some backlog of calls.

Most Northern Light Primary Care practice phone lines are experiencing a temporary outage. We are working with our carrier to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Please use the patient portal to reach out to your primary care team until we are back online.

Please note, this only affects primary care practice phones. All other phone lines are operational.

Neonatal Transport team are the recipients of our Team Caring Spirit Award! These amazing people bring expert, life-saving care to our tiniest and most vulnerable patients in the back of ambulances and in helicopters. Partnering with LifeFlight, they turn emergency transports into mobile NICUs, bridging rural communities to specialized care with skill, calm, and heart.

On Thursday, May 14, from 5 to 7 pm, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center will be upgrading our phone system to better serve our patients and communities. During this brief window, callers to our Outpatient practices, including Primary Care offices, won’t be able to leave voicemail messages.

No worries though! If you need to reschedule an appointment or reach your provider for a non-urgent matter, feel free to call us back after 7 pm, or send a secure message through the Northern Light Health patient portal at northernlighthealth.org/myNorthernLightHealth

As always, in case of an emergency, please call 9-1-1 or head to your nearest Emergency Department.

Meet Stacey Coventry, our director of community and animal services at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, and one of our co-hosts for our Beacon of Hope Community Grief Event.

“We want families and teens to know that grief is not something they have to navigate on their own. This event brings people together in a supportive, approachable way—offering connection, understanding, and small but meaningful tools for healing.”
