Today’s Healthcare Career Fair at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center was absolutely buzzing! 🌟 Nearly 250 students from 12 high schools and three colleges from across the region came ready to explore their future, and 22 departments—from Pediatric ICU to Emergency, Cardiac Care, Imaging, and more—showed off what makes healthcare so special. 🤍

A few weeks ago, the Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Community Cancer Council got an inside look at the future of cancer care during an interactive tour of our robotic surgery suite—led by Dr. Brad Waddell and Dr. Maxine Miller. 🏥✨

Council members and special guests explored leading-edge technology that is transforming cancer treatment right here in Maine, deepening their understanding of surgical advances and how they can support initiatives that truly make a difference for our patients.

“This was an evening I’ll never forget,” said one attendee. “Amazing people, facility, and experience.”

We are grateful to the surgeons, staff, and cancer care advocates who are driving progress in cancer care across our region. 🙌💙

🙏 In a month centered on gratitude and giving, it feels especially fitting to honor a pair who embody both wholeheartedly. Since joining us in April, Keith Michaels and his beloved therapy dog, Holly, have already donated nearly 100 hours of service across Northern Light facilities and throughout our community. 🎉

Their impact stretches far beyond their weekly visits to EMMC and Cancer Care. Keith and Holly have been instrumental in helping launch new therapy dog programs at both Blue Hill Hospital and Maine Coast Hospital—bringing comfort and connection to patients and staff in these regions. They also support youth literacy through our Paws for Tales 🐾 reading program at the Ellsworth Public Library, and they are always among the first to raise their hand for special events like Art with Therapy Dogs and employee wellness activities. 🙌

Keith’s willingness to take on special office projects, paired with Holly’s gentle presence, has made them invaluable members of our volunteer family. We are deeply grateful for their service. Thank you, Keith and Holly! 💚

Each year, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is pleased to host an event to honor those employees who are celebrating a milestone work anniversary. 🙌 On October 27, EMMC leaders were on hand to recognize and thank employees who reached their 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45-year work anniversary in 2025 – and what a wonderful evening it was! 🎉

We were also thrilled to recognize recent retirees from Eastern Maine Medical Center at the event. 👏 💝

Time for a heartwarming story? Here is a great one!

After receiving exceptional care from Dr. Barnett for a surgical procedure, Ellie wanted to give back! 💛

With help from her sister, Josie, she set up a lemonade stand to raise money for kids receiving care at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center 🏥 through our Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Program. Together, they raised an impressive $250.87! 💰

Thank you, Ellie and Josie, for your kindness and generosity—and a special shoutout to Dr. Barnett for the compassionate care that inspired such a sweet act of giving! 💛🍋
