On Thursday, August 28, residents and their families will enjoy a Summer Concert & BBQ right here at Maine Veterans’ Homes – Bangor. Our community will gather for great food and entertainment. 🎷🎤

On what would have been his birthday, MVH Bangor was honored to receive a $10,000 legacy donation in memory of U.S. Marine and former resident Steven Terry Roberts, Sr. 💙

Presented by his sister, Sheila Corbett, this generous gift will support outings and recreational activities for fellow Veterans—reflecting the same joy and connection Steven found in his time with us.

We are grateful for this gift to help ensure Steven’s legacy of kindness and camaraderie lives on at MVH Bangor.

We recently enjoyed a perfect summer day at Stockton Springs, hosted by our friends from the Marine Corps League! 🌊☀️

We had waterfront views, great company, and delicious food. 🌭🍔

Independence Day is an especially important holiday for our residents. And these celebrations show it!

We had a great session of arts & crafts with silly holiday themed crowns. 👑

We enjoyed handmade cards and chocolates from the generous Plymouth, Maine Card Makers, delivered by Sherry Davis. 💌🍫

We went to the waterfront for a special concert experience — thank you to Maine Savings Amphitheater and Matt for making it happen! 🎶🎆

We joined the 4th of July Parade, enjoyed a lively Super Bingo sponsored by the Masons 🎉, and had an incredible BBQ with steak, corn on the cob, and potato salad. 🥩🌽🥔

Wow! We are so lucky to care for those who served! 🦅

We recently celebrated our residents’ birthdays with a fun party sponsored by the Hampden VFW! 🎂🎈

Thank you to Sam’s Club for donating a beautiful birthday cake, and to Nick and his fellow veteran from Guitars for Vets for providing live music that made the day extra special.

We’re grateful for the community partners who help us create joyful moments like these! 💙

We’re so grateful to the Elks Lodge of Bangor for sponsoring an evening of Bingo and dinner for our veterans, staff, and volunteers!

They also generously donated gift cards to support our residents' garden, personal needs, and game prizes. Thank you for a fun-filled evening and for your continued support of those who served! 💙

We were honored to welcome award-winning pianist and artistic director Masanobu Ikemiya for a memorable performance at our Home. Our incredible activity staff were part of the show and helped create an awesome experience for our residents! 🎼🎹

Our latest stop in the “Trip Around the World” series took us to Korea—voted on by our residents who proudly served during the Korean era.

With the help of Joy, a resident’s family member and dedicated volunteer, we served up an unforgettable culinary experience featuring a full Korean spread: Kimchi, beef bulgogi, Korean BBQ chicken, Korean fried rice, japchae (sweet potato noodles), hamburger bulgogi, and Hwachae (Korean fruit punch).

For dessert, we enjoyed potato pancakes, mochi ice cream, sweet rice cakes, and mung bean cake. It was a feast to remember—and so far, our residents’ favorite meal yet! They also enjoyed learning about Korean culture, history, and tourist attractions.

So far, it’s their favorite meal yet! 🍽️❤️

Our residents enjoy the hands-on activity of planting. Our entrances, patios, and common areas are now bursting with color and life!

Today, we celebrate the freedoms we cherish and honor the brave men and women—past and present—who have defended them. At Maine Veterans’ Homes, our mission is rooted in gratitude for those who served.

We're throwing it back to Father's Day! We had a rockin’ good time honoring the fathers in our Home! There was live music by Elvis and a sweet treat from the Brownville American Legion Auxiliary—build-your-own Ice Cream Sundae Bars! 🍦🎤

We also hosted Father’s Day Social Hours, serving up a delicious spread of pastries, bagels, coffee, and tea for residents to enjoy together. ☕🥯

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day special for the incredible dads we’re proud to care for! ❤️👔
