The Military & Family Readiness Office of the Maine Air Natioanl Guard has moved. It is now located in Bldg. 417, Bangor ANGB. This is the same buillding as FSS and the ID card office.

If you or someone you serve with doesn’t have dental insurance, you may be able to use the Maine Veterans’ Dental Network. This is a program run by Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services, this is state of Maine programming that supports veterans, and I recommend checking them out for Maine specific veteran benefits, services, and resources.

A flyer from the the Bangor VA Clinic states:

A Resource for veterans to access dental care who aren’t 100% service-connected to the VA, don’t have dental insurance, and can’t afford to pay out of pocket.

For more information, contact the Maine Bureau of Veterans Services at MVDN.mainebvs@maine.gov or 207-287-6836 for eligibility conformation and assistance locating a participating dental clinic near you.

Veterans must provide a copy of their DD214 (Honorable or General Under Honorable Conditions) to qualify for the program.

You’re invited! Are you looking for a new career? Maybe you are transitioning from military service, or just looking for a change?

Maine's annual Hire-A-Vet Campaign is a statewide effort with the goal of at least 100 employers hiring at least 100 veterans and military family members during a 100-day period.

The 2025 campaign kicks off TOMORROW, August 14, at the Augusta Civic Center and will be followed by monthly in-person hiring events throughout the state:

* August 14, 2025 | 10:30 am to 3:00 pm | Augusta Civic Center
* September 25, 2025 | 11:00 am to 3:00 pm | University of Maine-Orono
* October 16, 2025 | 11:00 am to 3:00 pm | Maine Sports Arena, S**o
* November 13, 2025 | 11:00 am to 3:00 pm | University of Maine-Farmington

While the campaign is focused on veterans and their families, these events are *open to ALL jobseekers!*

The Maine Hire-A-Vet campaign provides support and resources to connect veterans with employers through a network of state and federal agencies, resources and nonprofits, education on military language and culture, recruiting and hiring assistance, and recognition for the hiring and advancement of veterans and military family members.

The Back to School Brigade school supply givewaway has begun. We've got binders, paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, rulers, scissors, glue and much more to get your kids off to a good start at school. All of its free. You can pick supplies up M-f 6:30-3. IMPORTANT CHANGE THIS EVENT HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE WING DINING FACILITY, Bldg. 417.

Wing Family day is tomorrow. We'll have lunch, snow cones, lemoade, a dunk tank, aircraft tours, barrier painting, kids activities, a K9 demonstration, the base fire dept will conduct an extrication demonstration (they're going to rip a car apart), over 40 organizations at the resource fair, and we know it will be hot so this year we'll have a cooling area.
