Born in Cameroon, in West Africa, Dr. Gaston To'olo graduated from University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2006. He has never forgotten the efforts of those who helped him along the way and when he opened KPD in the Spring of 2012 his mission statement includes: " Foster (ing) a team spirit in the larger community as we ... keep an eye toward future growth"
One way to make that mission statement a reality and honor those who helped him along the way is by paying it forward; mentoring the next generation to meet their dreams and goals.
One such young man is Jafar Ojubele; an 18 year old college student who is training for the Junior Olympics. Jafar has placed 2nd 🥈 in the long jump for his qualifier in Brewer ME and placed 6th 🏅 in the long jump at regionals this past weekend in New York.
Jafar and his parents originate from Nigeria however they moved to South Africa where they continued to live for 12 years. When able to, the family moved from the turbulent South Africa to the United States where they have access to opportunities that they simply would not have had in their homelands. Both Jafar and his father attend college on work visa's. Jafar's father is also the sole provider for their small family. The love and support of his family has certainly been the reason Jafar has been able to achieve his dreams thus far.
For Jafar to continue this dream and compete in Texas at Nationals; Jafar is in need of financial assistance to make this a reality. Katahdin Pediatric Dentistry is proud to be able to sponsor this young many yet cannot cover all the expenses.
We ask that others would consider also paying it forward by also donating to his cause.
