Community Health and Counseling Services Providing Home Health, Hospice and Mental Health Services to people in central, northern and eastern Our services are provided 24-7, 365 days a year.

CHCS is both a Medicare/MaineCare certified home health agency and a comprehensive community based behavioral and mental health provider. We work in collaboration with other health care providers to assist people in accessing care that can help them transition from and/or avoid more intensive and expensive forms of health care services.

Did you know CHCS operates a specialized school right here in Bangor — designed entirely around the needs of Maine's most vulnerable students?

Stillwater Academy serves students ages 5–22 who face emotional, social, behavioral, and developmental challenges. With certified teachers, behavioral health professionals, an occupational therapist, and a licensed school clinician all working under one roof, Stillwater Academy provides the kind of integrated, individualized support that helps kids thrive — and find their way back to their home schools.

Community Health and Counseling Services was pleased to honor this veteran who served in both the Navy as well as the Air Force.
He wanted to be in the service so bad, he forged his parent's signature so he could enter early. He went into the Navy, switched after two years to the Air Force and was there for a couple of decades. He served his country well. We are grateful to all our veterans and we were pleased to honor him for his service!

The CHCS Mobile Crisis team teamed up with students from the Yellow Tulip Project to offer our Larger-Than-Life Project at Orono high school, serving 300 middle and high school students. The Larger-Than-Life project was created by the CHCS Mobile Crisis Team to help share positive coping skills, affirmations, shout outs to people we care about and things that make us smile by filling out a tulip and placing it on a bouquet to display. We also like to offer this during the month of May for mental health awareness month.
