Dear Alumni Team of Husson,

I hope this message finds you well! My name is Kathleen, and I’m reaching out on behalf of Stepping Stones Pediatric Therapy, Inc., a nonprofit based in Londonderry, NH. We provide therapy and supportive programs for children, teens, and young adults with developmental challenges, while also supporting their families.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Occupational Therapist (OT) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) positions, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could share these opportunities with your alumni and graduate network at Husson University. With over 100 children currently on our OT waiting list, we are eager to fill these roles as soon as possible.

Parents and caregivers are invited to participate in a brief, voluntary survey exploring experiences accessing public libraries and other public spaces with children who have sensory processing differences.
This confidential survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete and is part of a master’s research project conducted by fourth-year occupational therapy students at Husson University. The study has received IRB approval.

💃🕺 Adaptive Dance Class at Husson University! 🕺💃

The Husson University School of Occupational Therapy is excited to partner with the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) and the Husson Dance Team to offer an Adaptive Dance Program this spring.

This inclusive program is designed to provide a fun, safe, and supportive environment where children of all abilities can explore movement, build confidence, and enjoy dance together. Classes will focus on body movement, body awareness, coordination, and learning a group dance, all while having fun and expressing creativity.

📍 When: Tuesday evenings beginning February 24
📍 Where: Husson University
🎉 The program will conclude with a celebratory recital on April 11 to showcase the dancers’ hard work and groovy moves.

The Journal of Humanities in Rehabilitation has accepted a study by Husson’s Dr. Cavenaugh Kelly and Professor Kathi Smith on the importance of art education to foster empathy in occupational therapy students.

The study covers observations of students in a series of 14-week classes between 2021 and 2023. These classes, hosted by both professors, asked students to analyze written stories and visual arts and compare them to the healthcare field.

We’re proud to recognize Amy Gerritsen ’26 and Hannah Nicely ’26, occupational therapy students who helped lead Husson’s pro bono school partnership program this semester. Through their work with Hermon Public Schools, they supported elementary students through pro bono evaluations and classroom-based strategies focused on motor and visual-motor skill development.

This experience reflects Husson’s commitment to community-based experiential learning, benefiting local schools while preparing students for real-world occupational therapy practice.

My name is Lincoln - I am a 2020 graduate of the PT program at Husson and have been a lab assistant there for the last 5 years in the PT program. I recently took a job as the rehab director at Cummings Healthcare in Howland, Maine.
