💙 Join Us for the Full Steam Ahead Walk for Autism – Bangor! 💙

We’d love to invite our community to come out and support this incredible event benefiting the autism community across Maine.

📍 Location: Husson University – Newman Gymnasium
(1 College Circle, Bangor, ME)

🗓️ Date: Saturday, May 30
⏰ Time: 10:30 AM

This is a family-friendly community walk bringing together individuals, families, friends, providers, and supporters to raise awareness and celebrate inclusion for individuals with autism.

Even if you are not an employee of UCP of Maine, you are warmly encouraged to attend, participate, and help support this meaningful cause. Come walk, cheer, visit the vendor tables (including ours!), and be part of something positive in our community.

Every step makes a difference. 💙

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Reflection – Honoring Maine’s Sacrifice 🇺🇸

As we observe Memorial Day and look toward America’s 250th anniversary, we pause to honor all Maine men and women who have died in service to our country, from the Revolutionary War to the present day.

Maine’s earliest patriots helped lay the foundation of a new nation built on the belief that people should have a voice in their communities, opportunities for a better future, and the freedom to live lives of dignity, purpose, and self determination.

During the Revolutionary War, Maine, then part of Massachusetts, contributed soldiers, militia, and seafaring forces to this cause. One example is the Maine Patriots of the Penobscot Expedition (1779), one of the most difficult and tragic campaigns of the war. Among those remembered is Captain Samuel McCobb Jr., whose ultimate sacrifice reflects the courage of early Mainers who fought in defense of liberty during a time of great uncertainty and sacrifice.

Those who served in that era, and in every generation since, were united by a belief that future generations might live free from oppression, with greater opportunity, independence, and voice in their own lives.

Today, we honor all Mainers who have given their lives in service, on battlefields abroad and at home.

At UCP of Maine, we are reminded that the freedoms secured through sacrifice are best honored when every person is supported to live with dignity, autonomy, and respect.

We remember all who served.
We honor all who were lost.
We are grateful for the freedoms we still have, and aware of how important it is to protect them. 🇺🇸

🎓 Celebrating Our Graduates! 🎓

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our team members, as well as their children and grandchildren, who have reached important educational milestones this year. From 8th grade to high school graduation, and through college and graduate-level degrees, these accomplishments reflect dedication, perseverance, and the support of strong families and a caring community.

We are excited to provide special education students grades 8 and up, with important information about adolescent and adult services available to them now, and in the future. This week, we recognize the educators who show up every day with patience, dedication, and care. Teachers do far more than deliver lessons. They create safe spaces, encourage growth, and help each student feel seen and supported.

At UCP of Maine, we are especially grateful for those who support individuals with diverse abilities, meeting each person where they are and helping them reach their full potential.
