It just so happens to be a pretty important day for PCHC as April 22 is Administrative Professionals' Day! So we thought it was fitting to honor our administrative professionals as our !
We're thrilled to honor our elite team who are so essential in keeping PCHC running smoothly. We thank you for your effort, your talents and your kindness each and every day!
We reached out to our administration and site directors to speak to how amazing our administrative professionals are and here is what they said:
“Our assistants always want to make sure everyone Is okay. In this role they have become that sounding board for people when they are just needing to chat, providing emotional support and encouragement and are instrumental in building culture.”
“We have dependable and dedicated admin assistants. They make themselves available to all staff and are always ready to help in any way they can.”
“I have always appreciated our assistant’s dedication and ability to ‘get things done’. I never have to worry about a ball dropping or having to follow up with them. They are an incredible resource to our providers and staff, and are passionate about PCHC, our patients and the mission we serve.”
“Our assistants are efficient, detail oriented, and FUN. Many try to find ways to boost morale and make our work more enjoyable”
“Each day our assistants bring professionalism, empathy and compassion. Their unique perspective and ideas have been key to our ability to function in the divisional model. They effectively collaborate with management and support staff, participate fully in leadership meetings, and are the ever important first stop when directors aren’t available.”
For these reasons, and many more, we recognize and celebrate you for all that you bring to the PCHC team, our patients and our communities. Your support is essential to our success!
Happy Administrative Professionals’ Day!

Today’s COVID-19 hero has hurdled multiple obstacles at the Hope House Health and Living Center and has not only continued her work with no interruption but has gone above and beyond in keeping things running smoothly. Today we honor Joan Emery from the Hope House.
Joan has remained calm, professional, helpful and incredibly hard working despite the numerous obstacles we have faced at the Hope House since this pandemic started.
Despite being short staffed, she has managed the work with no interruption, has given suggestions and has worked extra hours to keep us running.
She has tremendous commitment to our patients and our mission and keeps us steady during this challenging time. She is a calming force of nature.

The Hope House Health and Living Center, located at 179-181 Corporate Drive in Bangor, includes three distinct services for homeless and peri-homeless individuals in our community, all under one roof: the Hope House Health Center, the Hope House Shelter, and Hope House Transitional Housing.
Our Mission: To provide shelter, food, housing opportunities, and integrated health care as stepping stones to self-sufficiency for persons experiencing housing insecurity in our community.
Hope House Health Center
At the Hope House Health Center, we provide integrated medical and mental health services to homeless and peri-homeless individuals. Located at 181 Corporate Drive in Bangor, the Hope House Health Center hosts a number of support groups and provides an integrated medical model of care, including access to medical care, psychiatric care, and case management services. Hope House Shelter
The Hope House Shelter is a 64 bed emergency homeless shelter licensed by MSHA and the Office of Substance Abuse, and is the 2nd largest shelter in the state of Maine. In addition to housing and on-site health care services, 3 meals per day are provided with assistance from various community groups. Hope House is the community safety net in Bangor, managing the city of Bangor’s overflow of homeless persons from other shelters.
Hope House Transitional Housing
Encouraging healthy living, the Hope House Transitional Housing helps people move toward self-sufficiency and successful independent living. Each tenant is given the chance to develop and work on personal, independent living goals in a positive, safe and supportive environment. Our Transitional Housing features 48 private rooms and access to on-site laundry, a community kitchenette, shared common rooms, and more. We offer both wrap around services and integrated health care through the Hope House Health Center to help tenants develop stability as well as prepare them for independent housing.
