I've done this pose so many times, likely thousands, and it still teaches me things daily. It's incredible what simple poses done with intention can do. Try it out and let me know what you think. My bottom leg used to never touch the ground because my psoas was so tight, but it does now! First pose I do when my lower back starts to ache at all.

A little sneak peak of my personal scoliosis and sciatica practice. Everyone's flexibility and body is a little different so if you have back pain or sciatica reach out! It is my hearts work to help you heal.

Keep awareness in the lower abdomen, drawing it toward the floor.
Ben, one knee slowly without moving the pelvis and then the other. With both knees bent lift one foot at a time keeping the pelvis still.

Harder than it looks, especially early post partum πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’—

So this one with a chair or the wall if your hamstrings are tight. It's super calming for the nerves, a slowing down and cooling pose that lengthens the hamstrings and spine. Such a wonderful stretch. Play with bending one knee then the other, enjoy and let us know how it feels

"Skandasana provides a deep opening in the abductors, hamstrings, and pelvic floor. It is an active pose that requires core/low back engagement to maintain the integrity of the shape. Opening up the arms draws that engagement up the spine into the shoulders and adds a fun balancing element. I enjoy bringing dynamic movement into it, using the pose as a transition between lunges to improve hip mobility and lower body strength. "

Thanks to Sabrina for that beautiful description and video! We love Sabrina. You can join her gentle class on Fridays at 10 AM
