Nobody knew initially what was going to be required, but I wanted to be ready when it was announced. She did all the hard things
● moved back home after college
● worked 2 jobs
● freelanced on the side
● drove an older car
● purchased items off marketplace
● had a minimalist wedding
● did her own nails
● stuck to a budget
● married an incredible man with the same goals and willingness to put in the hard work
● kept her eyes on the prize
It's not an easy task to purchase a home in California. The average age for a first-time home owner in our area is 38! It is absolutely ridiculous and my heart was afraid it was impossible. Watching our kids move in yesterday with all their amazing wedding gifts to furnish their new home was incredible. I love that they have new towels, pans, utensils, rugs, furniture, etc. They were gifted everything they need. We are blessed with such good friends that want to see our kids succeed. They know it will not be easy, but it will be theirs.

So many parents are not informed about newborn behaviors and postpartum expectations. Babies are taking in about a liter of amniotic fluid daily. They have stomach contents at birth and are not starving. Right after delivery, they begin to explore, scoot, root and rest. All of these movements are instinctual. Parents have heard about "The Golden Hour" and sometimes feel pressure to do as much as possible in one hour before the time "expires." The Golden Hour is just the FIRST HOUR not the ONLY HOUR. Give baby time to adjust. Many babies WILL feed in the first hour, but some need a little bit more time.
