Therapist burnout doesn’t usually stem from the session itself, burnout can build from our environment and lack of systems.
Additional documentation outside of notes after a full day or the other administrative work that doesn’t fully turn off just because session is over.
Over time, that’s what makes the work feel harder to sustain.
Not because therapists aren’t capable…
but because they’re often expected to carry all of it on their own.
The challenges we manage outsides of the therapy room are real. The support you receive around those challenges matters more than people think.
