Lisa Small, BSN, stepped into the role of Interim Director of Health Services at Birch Bay Retirement Village in July of 2025. With over two decades of nursing experience and a deep commitment to compassionate care, Lisa brings exceptional leadership and clinical expertise to our community during this transitional period.
Lisa’s passion for nursing began in childhood and led her to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Husson College in 2002. Her diverse career includes roles on a medical-surgical floor, Night Nursing Supervisor, and Director of Obstetrics and ICU at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. She also served as a staff nurse at the Cooper-Gilmore Clinic, where she worked alongside Katie Lawson, FNP.
In 2022, Lisa joined Beacon Hospice as a Case Manager and was later promoted to Clinical Manager. She became part of the Birch Bay Retirement Village team in November 2023, continuing her collaboration with Beacon Hospice and Katie Lawson, NP. Throughout her career, Lisa has built strong relationships across the healthcare community, which she brings to her leadership at Birch Bay.
Her clinical background, team-oriented approach, and dedication to high-quality care make her a valued leader and caregiver within our community. Thank you for your contributions to the Birch Bay community!
