Yesterday was November 16 which to some was okay whatever. But to those who are in this practice it can be considered Hecates night. Who is she? What kind of deity is she?
Hecate is the Goddess of the Crossroads. She helps those who walk from our world to the underworld. A mythos of hers goes Demeter asks her to get Persephone from Hades; since then Hecate helps her go back and forth between the two. She’s considered Mother, Maiden and Crone. A goddess of variety of things not just the crossroads.
Common associated signs with her or symbols include: honey, bats, garlic, keys, dogs(even more if they are black), owls, crossroads, torches, and triple moon just to name a few.
What does this mean for myself? I’ve been working with her for about a year or so now. The signs were there but it took me a while to pick up the pieces. When I say that it was in form of being obsessed with keys, bats, sending me a black dog, just random signs that would make sense with her.
