What an amazing day some of the ladies had last Friday at the annual Merrimac Picnic! They joined sister residences The Pines Senior Living in Prairie du Sac and All Saints Neighborhood in Madison for delicious food, music, dancing and pontoon rides courtesy of ElderSpan President and CEO, David Griffin. National Assisted Living Week ended Friday with Pajama Day! The day started off with a pancake social with special toppings like toasted coconut, walnuts, fresh strawberries, blueberries, and whipped topping. In the afternoon there was a "Slumber Party", and everyone received an award for something that makes them so special. Administrator, Whitney made a homemade lunch as a thank you to staff - hot ham sandwiches, Seven-Layer Salad, and twice baked potatoes. We have the most fun-loving residents and dedicated staff members. Thank you to everyone who made the week memorable!

National Assisted Living Week adventures continued yesterday with Wilderness Wonders. Chris Doughty sang classic campfire songs in the morning, and then Camp Counselor Amy hosted an afternoon "camp-in" with songs, wilderness trivia and root beer floats!

There's fun to be had every day during here at Meadow Ridge! Monday was "Passport to Adventure" day, where the folks traveled around the world by 'visiting' 5 different countries, learning about them and sampling food. Tuesday was "Wild West" day, so we had a Saloon Social in the courtyard with music by "WisTex" and ice cream from Vesperman Farms Ice Cream Truck! Earlier in the day everyone enjoyed a western-themed bingo game, where if their special number was called they had to tell us what would be on their "Wanted Poster". Fran said she's be wanted for "Stealin' the Horse and Riding it to the Casino", and Shirley said she'd be wanted for "Stealin' Candy". YeeHaw!
