Jennie was a bright light in my life and in the life of Speaking of Horses.
When she called last year asking if she could serve as treasurer for the organization, I had no idea she would become so much more than a volunteer—she became family. Jennie didn’t just manage our finances; she poured her heart into our mission. She showed up for the children and the horses with the same gentle presence and genuine care, and they loved her deeply in return.
Her support extended far beyond spreadsheets and budgets. When I went through one of the most difficult times in my personal life, Jennie was there—taking me to lunch, offering wisdom and comfort, simply being present when I needed a friend most. She had a gift for showing up exactly when and how you needed her.
Jennie gave Speaking of Horses her passion, her time, her financial expertise, and her generous spirit. She gave me her friendship, her guidance, and her unwavering support. The impact she made on our organization, on the children we serve, on our therapy horses, and on me personally is immeasurable.
I will be forever grateful for the time I had with her.

First Steps Forward 💙

Today, we welcomed our first visitor since losing Blink.
I didn’t know if I could do this. But then this little one arrived, and I remembered what Blink always knew: this is what matters.

Every child Blink touched learned they were worthy of unconditional love. This sweet girl deserves that same gift.

We’re heartbroken. But we’re moving forward—one session at a time, one brave child at a time.
Blink’s legacy isn’t over. It’s just beginning.

Speaking of Horses is devastated to announce the passing of our perfect therapy horse, Blink. He was a shining star in our program taken too soon. We will always remember how many children he taught to speak with his gentle, loving, stoic nature. His legacy will live on through the words of the children he taught. Cancer is the worst but he had an amazing life. Please send our other therapy horses loving thoughts as they mourn the loss of their friend. ❤️
