Think it’s just dandruff? It might be scalp psoriasis—a chronic condition that causes thick, scaly patches on the scalp, along the hairline, and even behind the ears.

It can itch, flake, burn, and feel embarrassing—but you’re not alone, and there are treatment options that go beyond drugstore shampoos.

Prescription shampoos, topicals, and even light therapy can help calm inflammation and reduce flare-ups.

If your scalp symptoms aren’t going away, it’s time to get answers—and relief.

We love creativity—but when it comes to skincare, some DIY hacks can do way more harm than good.

Lately, we’ve seen it all online:
• Baking soda face scrubs that damage your skin barrier
• Lemon juice masks that cause chemical burns
• Homemade sunscreen (please don’t!)
• Using tape to ‘sculpt’ your face—yes, it’s a thing
• Tattooing freckles (with ink meant for paper, not skin)

These trends might go viral, but they can lead to real skin issues—irritation, breakouts, infections, scarring, and even long-term damage.

When in doubt, ask a board-certified dermatologist. Your skin deserves science-backed care—not experiments.

Not all psoriasis looks the same. There are five main types, and each affects the skin a little differently:

1️⃣Plaque Psoriasis
The most common type—causes raised, red patches with silvery scales, often on the elbows, knees, and scalp.

2️⃣Guttate Psoriasis
Appears as small, drop-like spots—often triggered by illness or strep throat, and more common in kids or young adults.

3️⃣Inverse Psoriasis
Smooth, shiny red patches that develop in skin folds like underarms, groin, or under the breasts.

4️⃣Pustular Psoriasis
Causes white, pus-filled bumps surrounded by inflamed skin—can be localized or more widespread.

5️⃣Erythrodermic Psoriasis
A rare but serious type that leads to widespread redness, peeling, and pain—needs immediate medical care.

If you’re unsure which type you have or how to treat it, we’re here to help you get the right diagnosis and care plan.

Not every dark spot is “just from the sun.”

Sunspots (also called age spots or liver spots) are flat, brown patches that pop up from years of sun exposure—usually on the face, chest, shoulders, or hands. Most are harmless.

But sometimes, what looks like a sunspot could actually be something more serious—like early skin cancer.

Here’s what to watch for:
• Spots that grow, change shape, or darken
• New spots that show up without a clear cause
• Itching, bleeding, or scabbing that doesn’t heal

Bottom line: if something looks off, it’s worth getting checked. Skin cancer is highly treatable when caught early—and we’re here to help.
