The Family Medicine Foundation of West Virginia is proud to announce that Morgan Christian, a second-year medical student at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, has been awarded the 2025 ESP (Educational Seed for Physicians) Scholarship. This scholarship supports medical students who commit to practicing Family Medicine in West Virginia after completing their residency.

We’re thrilled to celebrate the nomination of Dr. Tracy Hendershot to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)! A proud Appalachian and passionate rural health advocate, Dr. Hendershot has presented at our FMFWV Conference multiple times and was an ESP scholarship recipient in 2004.

His dedication to advancing rural healthcare and shaping national policy is truly inspiring. Best of luck this fall at the AAFP Congress of Delegates in Anaheim!
