After his father graduated from Chiropractic College he went into practice with his father Dr. Bartley Klindt’s grandfather who is also a doctor of chiropractic. Dr. Bartley Klindt is a third generation chiropractor, a Palmer graduate and he received his first chiropractic adjustment as soon as he was born. Everyone has experienced the birthing process and knows it is a very traumatic experience for both the mother and child alike. Receiving a chiropractic adjustment to correct spinal subluxations (misalignments of the spine) is very important to insure optimum health. Growing up Dr. Klindt was very active participating in almost every sport and extracurricular activity available. It was very important that he maintained spinal health to insure he could perform to the best of his ability and reach his optimum potential. He was involved in football, wrestling, track, baseball, basketball, swimming, biking, boating, hunting, fishing, cub scouts and boy scouts. Dr. Klindt joined the US Army after undergraduate college. Shortly after joining the Army he was married to his wife Amy Klindt and they were stationed in Colorado where he was a Combat Field Medic/EMT. He enjoyed the opportunity to serve his country as his grandfather did during WWII. While in the army he was awarded the Army Achievement Medal and was promoted quickly. After being honorably discharged from the army he returned to college and finished his pre-chiropractic requisites. While attending Palmer College of Chiropractic he took advantage of the opportunity to learn several chiropractic techniques. He practices Gonstead, Palmer Package, Diversified, Activator Methods and Lumbar Flexion Distraction. His grandfather would say “It’s just another tool in the tool box.” Some techniques work better in different situations and for different conditions. After Graduation Dr. Klindt and his wife Amy moved to Bardstown and joined Dr. Dearinger’s practice as his father and grandfather had already retired. Since moving to Bardstown he has enjoyed being involved in the community. He currently belongs to several clubs and organizations. He is a member of the Bardstown Rotary Club and has served on the board as Sergeant at Arms, Vice President, President Elect, President and Past President. He belongs to the Bardstown Knights of Columbus and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He is on the boards of the Kentucky Chiropractic Society, Bardstown Nelson County Chamber of Commerce and he serves as President of the Maywood Homeowners Association. He and his wife attend church at St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral across the street from his office on North Fifth Street in Bardstown. “Bardstown is a great place to live. My wife and I love being here. Even though we did not grow up in Bardstown we feel like this is our home and cannot imagine living anywhere else.” – Bartley J.
