🎃 Halloween Safety Reminder from the Axis I Center 🎃

As our youth head out for trick-or-treating tonight, let’s remember, we can’t be too careful when it comes to our youth here in Barnwell. 🍬

Before the candy fun begins, take a few minutes to check each treat for anything unusual. A quick inspection can make all the difference in keeping our kids safe this Halloween! 🧡👻

Let’s highlight this product I found during a scan this week.
1) It is not a good Valentine’s Day gift
2) It is not candy
3) It is not a toy
4)It is not easy to identify….
So what is it then ?

🎃 MADD South Carolina: Don’t Let Halloween Turn Tragic! 👻

Halloween is one of the deadliest nights for pedestrians — especially children. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) reminds everyone to make safety the top priority this year.

🚫 Don’t drive impaired! Plan ahead for a sober ride — use a rideshare, designate a driver, or stay put.
👀 Watch for trick-or-treaters. Drive slow, stay alert, and keep your eyes on the road.
✨ Keep kids visible! Use glow sticks, reflective tape, and light-colored costumes.
🗣️ Parents — talk to your teens about making safe choices and saying no to underage drinking.
📞 See an impaired driver? Call 911 — one call could save a life.

“Halloween should be a night of fun, not tragedy,” says MADD CEO Stacey Stewart. “If you plan to drink, plan a safe ride home — lives depend on it.”

🚗 Every 85 seconds, someone is killed or injured in a drunk driving crash. Let’s make sure this Halloween isn’t one of them.

Addiction is more common in drugs like alcohol or co***ne. But it’s possible to get hooked on ma*****na, also known as cannabis. That means you can’t stop using it, even if you want to. Studies show about 1 in 10 adults who use ma*****na can get addicted. Your chances go up to 1 in 6 if you use it before age 18.
