The Axis I Center of Barnwell is the legislated authority on substance abuse for Barnwell County. It is the county's only provider of substance abuse treatment and prevention services. The Axis I Center accepts private insurance, Medicaid, cash, and money orders. Payment plans are available and no one is denied services due to the inability to pay. The Axis I Center of Barnwell is accredited by th

e Council on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
