Today is the big day! Recovery Day💜 OPEN TO ALL!! I wish recovery was easy, but we all know it's not. Today, you have the opportunity to put more tools in your box, to hear stories just like yours, to feel loved and understood and to see and find hope in your future. There are so many fighting for you.
I, Raylene, as owner of 802 Scoop take great pride in being one of the sponsors of today's event. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend. You see I am like many, I am a mother to someone who struggles and suffers from this horrible disease. I am a mom who has spent these past few days and nights awake, scared and feeling helpless. My boy is missing, feeling trapped and like this demon is his only way out. If only recovery was easy. PLEASE enjoy your day, soak it all in. Fill your tool boxes, lean on each other and know with certainty that I support you, that everyone in that room supports you. You are not alone.
To my community, to my representative in Montpelier, I beg of you to listen! Listen to those that know a possible path forward because they have and are walking through the valley of the shadows of death. We NEED help!! Take a Covid like approach, you absolutely have the ability to shut it down! Fund long term recovery and sober living housing. Money spent to house the homeless is money you might as well set on fire. It's being spent to house and enable not spent to house and recover. Let's join together to help good people become even better people, who can live and contribute to their communities. 💜
