Just had a great little chitchat with someone this morning on the way to the studio about the impact of people coming to classes when they are not feeling 100%.
I do have a strict sick policy. Iโm very open about that. If youโre not feeling great, and you come to class to give yourself an hour of self-care, you may have just sent that person next to you who has cancer in it to a downward spiral, and for a small business owner to get sick, that means that I am without income until I get better because I do not have sick days or paid time off. I cannot work with people for Reiki or massage or yoga if I am sick. So that heavily impacts me as well.
And while we all know that I personally appreciate people refraining from coming to the studio if they are sick, that other person that comes to class to help take care of themselves, that might be battling something far worse and very unseen, appreciates you staying home as well.
I try to cultivate a safe space, and that word โsafeโ is used in many different layers here. Mental, emotional, physical, all of it.
Thank you for your understanding and appreciation of each other. Thank you for seeing the bigger picture. Thank you for holding space for others as well as yourself. I want to see all of you here, but I want all of us to be well when we are here so we can all keep coming here.๐ซถ
