Sunshine Speech Therapy is 1 year old!!!! 😁🥳😍 I can't believe how much I've accomplished and grown in just one year! I am SO grateful for the incredible families and children I get to work with every single day. I can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Spring is finally here which means it's time for . . . Easter egg hunts!!

🌷 I find that there is NOTHING more motivating than some type of hide n' seek or "hunting for treasure" kind of game - and Easter egg hunts are the perfect way to get my kids extra excited about practicing their words!

🐰 This year's eggs were extra fun, with pre-printed dinosaurs on them! They came with Smarties in them already, and then I traded some out for Skittles and chocolate easter eggs for a little more variety.

🐣 I was able to get 100+ trials of speech sounds in every session this week! With my articulation/phonological kids, high trial counts and multiple repetitions of targeted sounds are integral to making meaningful progress.

🌸 This week was an all around win! Progress was made, the kids got candy and parents got to see their kids workin' hard! Maybe we should do Easter egg hunts more often 😅

I am also so incredibly grateful for all of the families I get to work with 🙏 This business has grown faster than I ever could have anticipated and I am so thankful for everyone that has trusted me to care for their children! 💛

Double trouble!!! These brothers have such a special place in my heart. Both are partial verbal, partial AAC communicators! They amaze me at how well they navigate their devices and they’re always making me laugh, especially when they’re together!

We are officially contracted with Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island! I was given the wrong information a few months ago but we are now accepting clients with NHPRI! ☺️

Unfortunately, we are not contracting with UHC at this time. I understand this is frustrating as many families have UHC. Hopefully there will a partnership there in the future. Thank you for understanding!

We hope to be contracted with Cigna and Harvard Pilgrim in 2024 so stay tuned! 🤩

WE LOVE AAC!! This was about 30 minutes into this client's evaluation. His first time ever being exposed to high-tech AAC. He was VERY observant while I modeled on the device and I could tell he was itching to say something! He was really loving taking his carrots and putting them down the front of his shirt (which I encouraged because we're all about child-led play over here) and it got him talking about his carrots! The sky is the limit at Sunshine Speech Therapy! I can't wait to watch this little guy learn to communicate. 🤩 Contact me today if you have questions about AAC!

I was inside this box during the therapy session pretending to be a wolf/zombie and there’s pretty much nothing I won’t do to entertain your child to make sure speech is the most fun part of their day! 😂

We love Boom Cards! Especially this one from Graham Speech Therapy, LLC! This client loves practicing her sounds and even though it was only our 5th session, she is already showing some generalization of sounds in conversation!

I love her excitement at the end - “Let’s see if we det them all!” (That “guh” sound isn’t quite there yet 😅)
