This week, we explore the final limb of yoga, samadhi or bliss.
I think this can be a hard one to grasp and translation can create an obstacle for us. We think that bliss must be this euphoric state where everything is going perfectly.
But…. what if Bliss was (to quote one of my students) “unwavering acceptance?” What if it was the ability to be with whatever is present and still know yourself whole? Even when you’re sad or lonely or invigorated or happy? To be able to be with whatever you’re experiencing and want for nothing!
Our yoga practice allows us to explore what draws us out of the state of acceptance and away from bliss.
The expectations. The perfectionism. The need to do more (or less).
This week, let’s observe what draws us away from ourselves, and seek to invite more acceptance and more ease into our daily life.❤️

This week, we explore the fifth limb of yoga, dharana. This is concentration, focus, the fixing of the mind in one place. This limb prepares the mind for meditation.
So how do we practice this? We might focus on the quality of our breath. We might focus on a drishti. We might focus on an intention, a sensation an awareness or even simply being in the moment you’re in.

This week, we explore the 5th limb of yoga, Pratyahara, sensory mastery.

Our senses anchor us in a place of reaction and we can feel tossed about like a ship on a choppy ocean. How can we find inner peace when we are always reacting to what we hear and see?

Learn to draw your attention inward where you can observe sensory input without reacting to it. Through practice, we learn the art of being in the world without being overwhelmed by it. Smooth sailing.
