It's ok to admit you are tired or burned out. It is not a sign of weakness. We are all stretched so thin and live in a society that basically says we have to do it all. Taking the time we need for ourselves is not selfish, it is IMPERATIVE to our own health!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Also wanted to check in on how you are coming along with your goals you made for being a healthier you.

Unfortunately, due to my foot surgery last Wednesday, I was not able to check my weight this week, but that's ok. Can't put any weight on my foot for at least another week, which is a bummer!

However, it actually gave me an opportunity to do something I've kept saying I need to do - work on my upper body strength!!

Not only am I on crutches, but I have to scoot up and down the stairs on my butt which means I have to push myself up and down the stairs😜 I do actually feel myself getting stronger 💪

So don't let a little bump in the road get in your way. Either find an alternative/modification or focus on the positive you CAN achieve!

No one said the road to your goals would be easy. In fact, it can challenge you in ways you never imagined, but don't stress over it. Learn from the experience 🤗

Remember that your mental health is as important as your physical health!!

Sorry for the day late post. Yesterday I was getting ready for a presentation and trying to wrap things up at work before my bunion surgery tomorrow.

Down 2 pounds this week💪

Because of my surgery, I'll be off my foot completely for 2 weeks and then hopefully a walking cast for only 2. During this time, I'll continue to follow the food portion of my 30 Day Challenge and possibly do just some light weights when I can finally put my foot down.

Just because we run into obstacles doesn't mean we give up the fight!!

So this morning was weigh in day. I am actually up 1 pound BUT, as I've said before, DO NOT JUST GO BY THE SCALE!!!

I am feeling much better and my clothes are fitting better too!! While I know it can be discouraging to have the scale go the other way, I am exercising again, including weight lifting which is creating more muscle.

Also, remember that a body needs to get used to changes, especially as we get older (yes it happens to the best of us).

So don't get discouraged if that scale isn't moving as quickly or in the direction you would like. Know that you are making changes that benefit your overall health, so stick with it.

What can you do to help you keep on track with your healthy eating? Food prep is essential! Especially when you have very little time during the week.

Just spent about 2 hours getting food ready:

For breakfast: red and green pepper, zucchini and eggs. We make for several days in advance so we only have to heat it up in the morning. Bob alternates and has oatmeal with blueberries every other day.

For salads (lunch every day) cut up peppers so we can just grab and throw in our salads, and washed heads of lettuce so also ready to go

Dinners: chicken breasts (I also throw in my salad and Bob puts in a wrap he has along with his salad), ground turkey and steaks

We also use steamable bags of veggies to have with dinners. We usually will cook extra so we'll have for another meal. So quick to heat up!

It does take some time but definitely worth it when we have less time during the work week.

P.S. Tried a cauliflower pizza tonight - YUM! I took the pieces with the least amount of cheese as I am trying to avoid dairy

So after my detox week I am down 5.6 pounds!
But more importantly I am feeling great, less bloated and I don't feel like a sausage in my clothes 🤣🤣🤣 Remember, getting healthy isn't just watching the scale, so don't get hung up on it.

Another benefit of making healthy choices is seeing your body change. Taking your measurements is another way to track progress. Try finding a piece of clothing that either doesn't fit or is too snug for you to wear comfortably. As you make progress, keep trying on that piece of clothing and be prepared to see how amazing you look!!

Exercising will help build muscles which helps burn more calories. You don't have to go heavy. In fact, lighter weights with high repetition will yield results as well. I know I have a couple of followers who are into weight lifting (I won't call you out!), so I'd like to invite them to share some tips!!
