Ventriloquist Mark Griffiths was engaging and captivated our residents with his ventriloquist figures, or dummys as they say. We had a blast with Marcs unique and interactive performance. The entertaining variety acts resulting in moments that highlighted joy, laughter and a very engaging experience.

Residents had a "blast" and "loved that really fun show". We have a real appreciation for the technical mastery required to perform so convincingly. What a hoot!

Pardon our joy, we are having a sing along! Thank you, High Desert Marines, for organizing this monthly event with our veterans.

Musical gatherings and listening to music are wonderful, but there is something about singing your heart out to those good old classics. We aren’t loud; but we were mighty! It’s a toe tappin Tuesday, it was a great way to start out the day.

Nothing like an ice cream sundae on a Monday. Thanks to Mead Mortuary and Friends for providing our veterans with another winter social.

The key to a winter social is to pair the ice cream with something warm. So… a 1950’s sing along spearheaded by resident Carol warmed us all up! The ice cream socials are a hit, and we enjoy a frosty treat no matter the weather.

Happy New Years Eve! We thought we would get started a little early this year! Live 80's band and festivities at VHC Barstow will include our festive decorations, a wonderful meal by our culinary team and later in the evening we will top it off and ring in the new year with karaoke!

THANK YOU AMERICAN CRUISERS MC CHAPTER 149 for your ever constant and continuous love and support of our veterans.

The American Cruisers treated our residents to a hosted holiday lunch at the Home, serving up a traditional Christmas meal with all the trimmings. Our residents were so happy and appreciative of the Cruisers company! Thank you our brothers and sisters American Cruisers MC Chapter 149!

Skyline North Elementary School Choir shared the magic of the holiday season with our veterans. The choir’s sweet voices rang out clear and true to a wonderful variety of Christmas carols. Thank you, Skyline North, for bringing your angels to sing to our veterans! Happy Holidays!

VHC Barstow residents love getting out in our wonderful community, but sometimes on a cold day it’s really nice to just stay home and putter about. Today we had a painting class in the morning, morning exercise class and bingo. And sometimes… every once in a while we just listen to old albums that our residents made while their band was on tour. Snug as a bug in a rug, I believe is the saying. Happy Monday!

MAKING CHRISTMAS SPECIAL. VHC Barstow held a Christmas tree lighting to foster holiday spirit, and honor residents. Three very special and talented ladies took to decorating the Homes lobby areas with spectacular results! These staff members were successful in creating a festive atmosphere for the holidays. The tree lighting ceremony included hot cocoa, cookies and holiday music, a festive time for all! Happy Holidays!
